Movie Review: Transformers Revenge of the Fallen
Transformers Revenge of the Fallen How does it compare to the first one? - The story is just as good if you liked the previous one, probably ALOT better then the first one. Action packed every ounce of the movie, scenes that make you go "hell yeah!", really drags you into this film. Length? The movie started about 12:17 AM, and got done around 2:22 PM, but it keeps you glued to your chair, I thought and it seemed everyone else was entertained throughout the whole movie only 1 or 2 people moving to go to the restroom. Is it worth the money? Like my review of the 370z, this movie is bad ***, go see it now, and take the Z then you'll feel like your car can transform! :ughdance: + Rep if you liked my mini review :) I would give it "Two thumbs up" |
This may be the only good review of this movie that exists on the internet.
I will go see it, but I'm skeptical. My die hard transformer fan friends hated it. |

I expect to see giant robots, explosions, and Shia LeBouf running away a lot. Anything more is merely a bonus. |

If you don't like Michael Bay movies, then I suggest not going... if you're not bias I say go. |
On a side note: I could probably watch and enjoy 2.5 hours of megan fox doing just about anything...so its all good.
|
Haha, she'd make gay people turn straight...
|
This whole thread is probably better suited in the lounge :)
However......If they had this still image up on the screen for 2.5 hours....I'd probably enjoy the movie more than actually seeing it....(god image shack is slow today). http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/6452/foxs.png |
^ that image in IMAX quality is worth the price of admission.
someone move this to the off-topic lounge XD |
This is going to get dirtayyyyyyyyyy
|
My brother saw and said it sucked donkey balls....
|
It's getting horrible reviews from a lot of critics and people, but I think this is a type of movie where you go see the hot actress (Ms. Foxy Mama) and a bunch of robots fighting, if you want to see a story line, go watch Sisterhood of the Traveling pants or something like that.
|
I liked it, yes the story may not have been like that of... lets see harry potta, lol, but it was still action packed thats what i like, watching cool cars
new corvettes etc all sweet cars |
Screw the movie critics.
I will be seeing this movie for 3 things: stuff blowing up, dope cars, and megan fox. |
its worth it. dont listen to all them ppl with bad taste who dont give it good reviews. i see star trek and new terminator and both not close to as good as this
|
Eh... It's a Michael Bay film, that's for sure. Worse than Star Trek; better than Terminator 4. I give it 2/4 stars because it's entertaining, but is by no means bad or great.

I have heard nothing good about this movie until this thread. Hopefully we Z people just aren't easily amused. :D
edit: i just happened upon this: by Roger Ebert "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" is a horrible experience of unbearable length, briefly punctuated by three or four amusing moments. One of these involves a dog-like robot humping the leg of the heroine. Such are the meager joys. If you want to save yourself the ticket price, go into the kitchen, cue up a male choir singing the music of hell, and get a kid to start banging pots and pans together. Then close your eyes and use your imagination. The plot is incomprehensible. The dialog of the Autobots, Deceptibots and Otherbots is meaningless word flap. Their accents are Brooklyese, British and hip-hop, as befits a race from the distant stars. Their appearance looks like junkyard throw-up. They are dumb as a rock. They share the film with human characters who are much more interesting, and that is very faint praise indeed. |
It's a movie guys! No need to get all deep into it. If you don't like it, then simply don't watch it... Some people will like it, some people won't. Oh freakin well lol!
I loved the movie. Was it perfect? No, but I still enjoyed it a lot! There's my 2 cents! I'm hopping in my Bumble"Z" and rolling out lol! Oh and BTW Robert ebert probably loved the movie "Brokeback Mountain" for it's dialog... I went there! |

...ok just for reference this is a movie based on a cartoon from the early '80s. I haven't seen it yet but if that's the premise it can only be improved like 10,000x from the original cartoon ;)

ok. just came back from the IMAX showing. F all the critics. I think this was better than the first one. devastator, soundwave, optimus combining with another robot at the end, sideswipe (corvette concept), megan fox, and a whole slew of other robots.
Again, didn't go into the movie looking for an academy award winner. |
I tried to go see it tonight but all viewings were sold out from 7pm-10pm around my area. Will try again later today (thursday).

If you want better movies to be made, then don't give 'em your $10. And convince everyone you can not to either. And yes, this thread belongs in the Lounge. |
I saw it yesterday... and I thought it was good as the first one... I rate the movie overall a 8 on a scale of 1-10 and 10 being great.
|
I saw it last night and think it was horrible.
|
Don't really care for it. I hated the first one expect for megan and the special effects. Other than that it was like watching the 3 stooges but robot form and it wasn't funny. If I was a 5 year old i might of liked it. When I first saw the previews I was expecting something more, different, not a slap stick comedy, jar jar binks wanna be, jive talkin horrid acting if there were any, and crappy writing. Hell they should of had the waynes brother directed it then maybe it would of been funny. If i get to see it for free i may check it out. But that's my half a cent.
:roflpuke2: |
And you are so right. Most people don't care for quality.

I was a fan of the cartoon and I'm curious how did devastater look? Was it some what similiar to the cartoon (probably not). Or was that robot even in the movie.

Action movies don't need to act well to be successful. Not really a hard concept to understand.
|
maybe not for mindless people, i prefer to have a little something so that i can watch it. Not saying it has to be some Martin Scorsese or Stanley Kubrick movies. You can make a movie that has excellent action and some good acting and writing (startrek with JJ, the dark knight to name a couple). But I guess since hollywood knows that people don't care for quality they just keep doing it. Oh well what can you do.

<<SKIP THIS SECTION for Movie Review>>
So yesterday, I went to go watch it with my friends, after not being able to go watch it in IMAX, (the real IMAX, not the fake AMC ones). We settled to just watch it in regular movie theater. I went to the Regal at Weslayan, and well the movie started off with bad sound, in the theater, almost as if they were underwater. None of us could understand what the robots were saying. Then during the big fight scene towards the end a "power surge" shuts down the movie. Upon resume to be followed by more bad sound. <<MOVIE Review>> But as far the movie goes, well i think it was a pathetic attempt. First one was better, but just out of curiousity when was there a TERMINATOR decepticon? The twin robots (i have no clue who they were suppose to be) were annoying along with the kazillion "so-called comedy" that Michael Bay tried to shove down her mouth. Also umm devastator was utterly F-ed up. Im sorry if this is nothing but a long rant, i grew up watching Transformers, and i loved it to death, and for them to ruin such a perfectly hollywood-capable movie...is just plain ridiculous. And to think i was gonna watch it in IMAX. Hey atleast i got a free re-admission movie ticket for the whole fiasco! |
going to be watching this movie tomorrow in IMAX.
|
saw it last night, and it was one of the WORST movies i've ever seen. too long, nonsensical story, and horrible acting (especially megan fox... at least shes hot).
btw, anyone else notice the old decepticon looked and sounded exactly like the davy jones character from pirates of the caribbean? strange... |
We had 'Fathers Day' here in the UK last Sunday and my son 'treated' us all to go see the Transformers movie - because he wanted to see it (lol).
...After 15 minutes my wife was asleep. ...3/4 of the way through the movie my wife turned to me and said, "Do you know what's going on?". ...personally, it just seemed like a lot of CGI stuff - cars changing into robots all the time (and I mean ALL THE TIME, non stop). ...there was one very convincing bit, where army vehicles, such as tanks, tumbled down the side of the Great Pyramid at Giza. ...the main female actress seems only to be able to act with the excessive injection of collogen that has been implanted in her top lip (and lip-acts very well). ...my son and my daughter's b/f loved it. ...my peanut M&M's were lovely. |
