Great movie. Can't wait for the rest.

I was expecting better for a summer movie. Fast and Furious 6 was great as well as Star Trek and Iron Man 3.

You're right. I loved it but I should've expected more character development from supporting characters instead of the just Kal-El. In which case they also should've named the movie "Man of Steel and Everyone He Fuc*in' Knows" to validate my expectation for more character development.

I was also at fault for wanting intense, lengthy, and full of destruction superhuman action from a comic book movie featuring an alien super being fighting a gang of other alien super beings. That was just ridiculous. I mean, Superman should've just had a talk with his son or rebuilt the Great Wall of China with his--whatever kind of vision he used in that awful film.

Finally, Fast and Furious with its infinite runway action scene, Iron Man with the fake Mandarin, and Star Trek (well that was actually pretty good) were more enjoyable because they had better character development, was more realistic, and relatable.

Seriously, it's a movie about Superman kicking ***. The story, or lack of according to some, is just a plus. I would literally pay to see Superman, or any superhero like Thor go apesh1t on someone just for the hell of it. No story, no motivation, and definitely no character development required.

LoL I'm not even sure if it was a good or bad review. :stirthepot:

I just saw it last night and aside from Martha Kent seeming completely nonchalant to the events taking place the movie seemed pretty legit. I thought it gave great insight into who Clark was as an individual and touched a little bit on all the other supporting characters. What I do know for sure is after seeing this movie there is no question as to what would happen if two "Supermen" threw down in the middle of a city. It's a wrap!

Saw it on Friday, a good stepping stone movie. I rate this on par with Batman Begins, was a solid intro story with good flashbacks and history. Glad they used Zod for the enemy because it really sets up how Superman is very powerful but controls its to show his compassion for humans.

Also, for the second they really did a lot of setup giving them plenty of options.
-The outposts could include other members of his race, such as his cousin and bring her in later.
-Darksied would be perfect as another equal threat to Superman, such as Zod, but can take place on Earth & other planets.
-Lexco was shown which gives way to subplots of Luthor being a d1ck and trying to steal Superman's power.

The one thing I always liked from Justice League Unlimited was the final fight with Superman, where he gets to stop controlling his power and just let it all out. No holds fight with Darksied, that would be an epic ending where you get to see him show all his powers and give the a$$ kicking people want to see.

I really enjoyed it. I want to see Superman fight Thor or the Hulk.
