"Early word had Stone pegged as playing Mary Jane Watson, Peter Parker’s other classic crush from the original Spider-Man comics. It now turns out that Miss Watson won’t be in the reboot after all.

The story broke last August that Mary Jane is not the love interest in director Marc Webb ’s new Spidey movie and we assumed that meant she wouldn’t appear in the film. That was before word got out that two female leads, both MJ and Gwen Stacy , would appear opposite Andrew Garfield in the new Spider-Man. Now The Wrap is claiming that an individual close to the project has confirmed that Mary Jane actually won’t be featured in the reboot at all. How’s that for much ado about nothing?

All of this confusion apparently stemmed from earlier discussions that Webb and screenwriter James Vaderbilt had about possibly incorporating Parker’s red-haired crush into their Spider-Man film. Once Stone officially signed on to play Gwen Stacy, the filmmakers also abandoned the idea of a love triangle (a la Sam Raimi ’s Spider-Man 3 ) and stuck with just one romantic interest for the webslinger."

Wow, they're actually following the real storyline that the web doesn't physically come from his body... interesting.

Saw the trailer and was not impressed. I had high hopes for this movie as a spider-man fan, and still kind of do. What they showed in this trailer though was kind of awkward... Peter was pretty damn emo from the looks of things, but I'll chalk it up to being just a trailer misconception for now.

I do wholly vote against that first person parkour crap though.

This one seems to make a big deal out of his parents, something that was left behind, and a secret kept. What are they referring to? :confused:

Seen this on IMDB a little while back, but why in the fvck are they redoing it again?? The others are not even that old, stupid hollywood why start all over again and again and again.

I've still have tons of comics most of which are spidey ones, but why redo the movies already it's just dumb.

Tobey Maguire was ok as Peter Parker, because he was nerdy. That's what Spiderman is, the nerd with super powers.

I really don't understand the re-boot. The first one was actually pretty good, so this would have to be better than that. The last 2 were ok, but a bit of a let down.

that does look pretty good. the movie looks a little more grittier/edgier than the first three.

this spiderman is gonna be the best one, it loooks way more interesting than the previous ones. i recently re-watched them, and they really arent that good. 2 was the best one.. and yes a new SPAWN movie would be awesome

It looks better than the others ... but it's still a little soon to reboot. 2 was a good flick, 1 was meh and 3 was absolute garbage.

i said the same thing about it being too soon, especially after the first trailer i saw. but after seeing the newer trailer and reading more about it, i really cant see how this movie could bomb. who knows, maybe the whole secret his father is talking about was to create "spiderman" and get him ready for the Avengers lol

Cliff Notes: 3/5 If you want something to do, cool. But you won't feel bad for not seeing it in theaters if you wait to netflix.
