phelan 05-28-2012 11:30 PM

yay, some free time today, i'm watching a few eps to catch up...i'm already looking forward to season 3 hahaah

KaienZ34 05-29-2012 07:19 AM

Hell yeah season three.

Aizen Sosuke 05-29-2012 08:04 AM

The battle was good, and the episode moved fast through the storyline but I feel like they sold us short and simple on the overall battle strategy. I have an average at best imagination and when I read Tyrion's chapters on the Blackwater it was way more epic in my head than what I saw. Not enough ships on both sides, no chain, no horse charge from Tyrion going mad in battle right up until Mandon Moore takes a swing at him. All these things would have make Tyrion even dearer to us as a character I feel.

Cmike2780 05-29-2012 09:42 AM

^^I know what you mean, but there's no way they could have done everything with the budget they had. It cost about 6 Million per episode and I'm sure, a very short time frame to shoot. I don't think I've seen anything come close in quality to that battle from anything else made for TV.

Good point but can I at least get my chain and a few more ships with wildfire?

twinturbonet 05-29-2012 11:57 AM

Damn son, 6 mil an EP? That's crazy. I could definitely see how it would cost that much though. Straight up, every time I watch GoT I think I'm watching a movie.

First time I felt they had to compromise the story in a meaningful way for time/costs a bit. Still far better than most book-to-film adaptations out there.

Rooster89 05-29-2012 02:00 PM

made sure i didn't read any posts above me cuz im watching the ep now, but i gotta say how much I love Bronn. The scene in the tavern was awesome.

KaienZ34 05-29-2012 04:25 PM

Yeah he is very badass.

Rooster89 05-29-2012 04:36 PM

very true. It would have been cool to see a Hound vs Bronn fight though. :happydance:

True Blood is pretty entertaining and the new season looks promising. Jessica gets more hot every episode. I am always checking to see if they make the first season of Boardwalk Empire available available on VOD and will be happy when they do. Those should hold me over and justify me keeping HBO until the next season of GOT.

Newsroom looks promising as well.

It's still good even though they are MILES away from the books. Starting with season two and moving further further away each season. I like to think of them as two separate story lines in the same universe so to speak.

Rooster89 05-30-2012 04:07 PM

could never get into true blood. tried watching the first six episodes and i was just glad to be done with those. Boardwalk empire however, I really want to get into. and of course, I'm going to be rewatching deadwood.

Bri7Synyster 06-04-2012 08:48 AM

That was such an epic season finale. I'm glad Daenerys isn't letting people walk all over her. The white walkers were fcking awesome!

6spd 06-04-2012 08:54 AM

The scene with the dragons was EPIC!

The zombies cometh!

BlackZeda 06-04-2012 11:03 AM

Great season finale. The change to more of the fantasy/magic themes is perfectly timed. The last 2 minutes was so good that my cat was even transfixed, staring at the TV.

phelan 06-04-2012 11:29 AM

lol pyat pree got pwned.

and yes, god DAMN the last scene was epic.

last two episodes were golden. i'ts like the staff went "oh f*ck we have too much money left SPEND SPEND SPEND OMGOMGOMGOMGG"

KaienZ34 06-04-2012 02:21 PM

speedfreek 06-04-2012 02:52 PM

Theon got :owned: as well. Good speech though haha. "What is dead may never die!"...WHACK!!!

And you don't F with Jon Snow!

The end scene with the Wights (aka ZOMBIES) was awesome.

definitionxmk 06-04-2012 03:21 PM

That was pretty badass... Dragons and White Walkers FTW! What was up with the dude that changed his face? Crazy stufffffff

He's a shape shifter and belongs to a group of assassins from Bravos. Going by what was said in the episode without spoiling anything, lets just say Arya is very tempted to follow in his path, but wants to help her siblings first.

small spoiler, but not really, Jaqen H'ghar says "valar morghulis" to Arya, which means
( Click to show/hide )
"all men must die"
.

Bri7Synyster 06-04-2012 06:43 PM

What about Sansa? That girl is one stupid bi+ch.

HKYStormFront 06-04-2012 09:44 PM

yea i'm not really sure why sansa feels "betrayed" by her family or whatever makes her feel like she should stay. if i were her i'd want to GTFO. brienne kicking @$$ was pretty awesome. theon's boned... and john snow looks like he'll be getting some soon enough. overall, loved the episode, and this season. why does it have to be over already?!

Bri7Synyster 06-05-2012 08:48 AM

Now we have to wait a whole year before it comes back on :(

Aizen Sosuke 06-05-2012 10:09 AM

I really enjoyed the ending of the season, far better than book two which leaves you on a bunch of cliffhangers, although they covered some early material from book 3 but it was totally needed to give the season some sort of conclusion. They also brought the story lines back in line with the books for the most part. I loved seeing the White Walkers/Others since I had a hard time picturing them while reading. Season 3 is going to be by far the most epic one since book 3 is IMO the most epic book from start to finish. One more year to go, until then Valar Dohaeris friends.

KaienZ34 06-05-2012 10:38 AM

Well a little less than a year till the start of season three. It should start around the beginning of april 2013, as if that helps much....

In the books, she's has the **** beat out of her and she live in mortal terror of angering Jeoffry. She's so mentally and physically abused, she's terrified to make any decision. They really lightened this up in the show.
