I'm glad they fired all the writers. Everything after ep.2 has been disappointing. They need to stop deviating too much from the comic story line.

The CDC self destructing is dumb, I agree. I was wondering why they would force it to self destruct with no way of turning it off. There has to be a way to turn off the self destruct mode. That was probably the dumbest thing in season 1. The guy, I don't remember his name, in the CDC building at first should of moved on and keep on living instead of suiciding. He had a promise and now he broke it.

Hopefully season 2 will be better than this finale.

In the end, I still enjoy watching it all. I love zombie movies and shows.

SmoothZ 12-06-2010 01:39 PM

So what's next? I hope the new writers are better. I hope they go to a different city. Maybe even make it up to Fort Knox.... lol

Jordo! 12-06-2010 02:15 PM

Going by the comic plot...

( Click to show/hide )
Next comes the farm where thye meet new people, and find that they are keeping their friends who turned zombie in the barn and feeding them... as you can imagine, all hell eventually breakes loose.

Then...

( Click to show/hide )
They eventually find a prison. The inmates in there join the group -- a few cause some problems, including the murder of a few kids. Things are somewhat peaceful in the prison for a bit... then they hear a helicopter and go looking for it...

next comes...

( Click to show/hide )
The little town of Woodbury, which they find in searching for the helicopter (it crashed, BTW -- no people found). The "Governer" of Woodbury is a fvcking sadistic nutter. He wants to take over thier prison and steal the supplies for his town. (I predict they'll bring back the hick's brothter for this role, BTW -- that would fit with what the governer does to thier group, which includes lopping off Rick's hand and raping the sh!t out of one of their companions -- a tough as nails chick -- who attacks him). The crew eventually escape back to prison to wait for the Governer's assault. After they get away, the girl who was raped returns solo with a vengence and tortures and mutilates the Governer.

After several months of peace and quiet...

( Click to show/hide )
The governenr and a bunch of guys from Woodbury attack! The yeventually overrun the prison, and in the bloody battle between zombies and humans, Rick's wife is killed (along with several other members). The survivors flee. The Governer dies in the fight -- end of hte Woodbury arc.

So they go back on the road, and eventually find themselves...

( Click to show/hide )
Hunted by cannibals! This doesn't end well -- Rick brutally kills the cannibals.

Around the same time...

( Click to show/hide )
They meet some new folks, including someone who claims he knows what caused the zombie outbreak (he's full of sh!t). En route to DC to look for answers they run into a new community -- things are someehat peaceful here... a little too peaceful...

I believe that is up to date. God only knows how much the AMC hacks will deviate from that...

ThoriumHotdog 12-06-2010 02:20 PM

Lets hope season 2 is better.

The CDC blowing up was kind of cheesy but they did try to explain it the best they could.. Zombies shows are always cheesy. :D

The Walking Dead Renewed For A Third Season

Wooooo!!! AMC has renewed The Walking Dead for a third season. I'm pretty pumped to see it picked up so soon into the returning season. I'm surprised I couldn't find a discussion thread on the forum about the show. Thought there would be more people viewing.

ROFL I was thinking the same thing!

Spikuh 10-26-2011 08:23 PM

Great show and has some really awesome effects. My only complaint is they have the characters pulling some really dumb stunts. :(

Season 2:happydance:

Jordo! 10-31-2011 01:34 PM

Seriously -- the comics are a great source. Why are they making up their own stories?

I give them credit for at least FINALLY intruducing the main theme of the WD comics: That people become monsters themselves if that's what it takes to survive.

I don't know how they're going to deal with the Governer...

Dzel 11-12-2011 09:20 PM

Never read the comics but I love the show. Subscribed!!!

Spikuh 11-14-2011 09:51 AM

Is anyone else finding this season to be really lackluster?

I thoroughly enjoyed the first season, but this one is just grinding my patience. The compelling characters are getting zero screen time, they can't find the little girl (after like 3 or 4 episodes of 13 total episodes....), and the story arc between Grimes, Lori, and Shane is tiresome to watch.

Last nights episode was finally entertaining because we got to see more of Glenn, Hershel, and Daryl. I hope we see more of them in coming episodes although I think next weeks is the last until February.

tjlazer 11-14-2011 01:42 PM

watched them all up until the latest episode, so I got to watch that one. Love the show so far! But I do agree the finding the little girl is dragging out too much, time to move on already!

Jjaden 11-14-2011 03:03 PM

Season 2 is total crap so far.:shakes head:

Way to take a show which should be totally awesome (Zombie apocalypse) and has tons of potential and turn it into a boring drama....

Usually shows don't start to suck until 4-5 season, I'm not sure this one will last that long unless things pick up FAST....

FL 4Motion 11-14-2011 11:24 PM

/\ agreed. Season 2 is just dragging on, enough with the missing girl, she's dead, move on already, geesh.

It seems like each episode covers about 24hrs in the lives of the characters, ie. hardly a damn thing happens for the entire episode, they need to up the pace/action or the series won't last imo.

Spikuh 11-15-2011 11:56 AM

^^ The episode where Shane shaves off his hair covers like 4 to 6 hours of time...

And I don't think they are going to kill the girl off. Would be to much of a waste. I don't think they will be on the farm much longer after Sunday's episode so I expect her to be found this episode or the next when it picks up in February.

Who knows though. :ugh2:

KaienZ34 11-15-2011 12:04 PM

It's wierd i love zombie movies, and offten dream about zombies. I just can't get into this series, i tried about 6 eps in the first season and only 2 this season. I just hate the fvck out of the people and want them all to die.

Dzel 11-15-2011 07:47 PM

When it first started I thought the whole season was going to be th sherriff looking for his famiky

Dzel 11-20-2011 08:39 PM

So there supposed to Finally find the little girl tonight

I love this show and can't wait for every episode that comes out. I hope this one lasts like 20 seasons lol.

Anyways, episode 3 is coming out and I wonder if Rick will get back with his wife.

LOVE THIS SHOW... watching a recorded episode right now haha :tiphat::tup:

Rui Z 11-20-2011 09:56 PM

I was a fan after season 1, but the pace of the show has slowed dramatically. Another slow episode tonight. If nothing big happens in next weeks midseason finale, that's it for me.

It may have been slow, but it much faster paced than most of this season. And they actually address a couple things which was nice.

Jolliday 11-27-2011 10:36 PM

How did you guys like the mid-season finale tonight?

I have been watching this show since season 1, and as others have said in this thread the pace has slowed dramatically! It has gone from encounters with walkers and some drama with nicely placed action scenes to practically a soap opera.I am so sick and tired of hearing about this little girl and them sitting around this farm!

I did think tonight's episode had a lot better pace though, and will be enough to at least get me to watch the next couple of episodes coming up in February to see what happens next.

Was NOT expecting that..... I loved it (even though it was sad). Can not wait until Feb!

Yeah it's had it's slow moments but look at the subject the writers are working with here.. :ugh2:. For what it is, I think they've done pretty good and tonight's was downright awesome and reminded me of why I watch the show!

Exactly, I thought they were losing their viewer base most of this season, but as you said last nights episode really got me into the series again. Definitely reminded me of the fast pace action of the first season.

I must say though, I thought Dale was a goner last night.

MC 11-28-2011 08:27 PM

how did herschel and the family not know the girl was in the barn? didnt they feed them chickens every week? i mean they knew of the search for the girl so you would think even if they didnt know is was the same girl it would be addressed... i know the barn was a secret but still that stood out to me...also the otis thing... didnt they say he gathered all the zombies? if he was killed right after they arrived she must have been the in the barn since they got there... so it just seems odd that she could have done the things dale tracked her doing and all and the get captured all before otis was killed...

i dunno something about it felt off... but im glad they ended that story of sophia missing was getting old... atleast she wasnt captured by the others for a whole season

Spikuh 11-28-2011 09:13 PM

The last 3 episodes have been somewhat redemption for this season. The rest of this season should been 2 episodes tops instead of what...4 I think. O well, some hope remains. I will finish watching this season but if it goes back being stupid slow for 3 of remaining episodes, I will just check out and move on.

I am cautiously optimistic.

Jjaden 11-28-2011 09:28 PM

So Sophia is a zombie, which would mean she was caught and bitten by Zombie's right?

Wouldn't they have fed on her? If she was caught by zombies she would have been all chewed and eaten up.

Just saying.....

she could have been bitten while she was out on her own but got away... then she turned eventually and was rounded up by otis all before he was killed..... i guess lol

Jolliday 11-29-2011 06:37 PM

I agree with y'all, something qute doesn't make sense about the whole Sophia being in the barn. the only way I could see it is if she ran around like crazy, got bitten, and then got rounded up by Otis in an apparently very short amount of time.

Or what I thought for some reason during the episode was that she tried to take refuge in the loft of the barn thinking that no one would be there, maybe because she would be afraid to go in the house fearing there would be zombies in it. Then she was somehow bitten by one of the walkers in the barn... Without being devoured somehow.

My second theory doesn't make much sense though. I thinks she got bite when she wandered away from the main guy and was rounded up by Otis, before he became the sacrificial lamb for Shane.Hopefully there will be some clearer answers to this in February.

KillerBee370 11-29-2011 08:30 PM

I think Herschel knew that Otis brought her in and put 2 and 2 together when they said they were looking for her. He kept it to himself so that they would hopefully move on. But what the hell do I know?

All I know is that there are zombies with awesome hollywood makeup and so I'm in!

BTW.... Shane's gone off the DEEP END!!! Oh, I think the kid is his too...

I agree with this theory. I think Herschel knew about Sophia but didn't want to tell the group because then he would have to explain the zombies in the barn, and deal with the prospect of the Zombies all being finished off by Shane and the gang...

As for Sophia being bitten once and escaping and turning, I don't buy it, if a Zombie was able to catch her, there is no way she'd escape after 1 bite, just my thought.

I have to say KillerBee370's theory makes the most sense as well. I knew that I was way off. I think Herschel could definitely sense the hostility of the group, and knew they wouldn't react well to his "sick" family members and towns people.

But I don't buy that Sophia could be bit and actually escape from her attacker. And from the looks of the scene where she comes out of the barn, it looks like she was bit in the neck. Definitely no way!
