April 13th is out for me but the other 2 dates are good. Hopefully the weather will cooperate on 20th, if not then the 27th.

I'll post full details sometime this weekend.

It's that time of the year. Nice weekends coming up.

Date: Saturday 4/20/2019, rain date Saturday 4/27/2019. Hopefully one of these will work out with decent temps and no rain (30% at worst). If not, we'll shoot for a May date.
Meet time: 7:30am, on the road by 7:45am
Meet location : Road Ranger off of 90/20 - https://goo.gl/maps/z3jp1SHtay82
Total distance: ~450 miles roundtrip (welcome to split off any time)

*Please park in the area in red - http://i.imgur.com/QP1nSW3.jpg more space at the McD's next door

Pace: Slow in the straights, somewhat spirited in the corners. This is a cruise with lots of miles, not a hotlap :)
Lunch: Red Robin in in Dubuque

Requirements: Be fueled (both you and car) and ready to go.

We'll go through some favorite roads getting up to and around Galena. I'd like to mix it up this year by coming back through IA/WI (near Prairie du Chien). We'll cruise along the great river road too (IA C9Y).

If anyone has a garmin which can do custom routes and wants to lead at a faster pace, I'm all in. Much easier to follow

Given the length, I want to be on the road by 0745. Please arrive at the meet spot on time.

Route concludes around Madison. Our last stop as a group will be here . 39/90 Isn't too far away if you're heading back into Chicago.

If you're coming please post up or PM. We'll only wait til 0745.

Who's in?

Fyi looks like a flood warning for the hole's mighty Mississippi. Doesnt look bad enough to affect the route yet.

I'll see y'all there! :driving:

@BettyZ thanks for the heads up. Iowa 511 | Road Conditions | Highway Construction | Iowa DOT Shows it to be open at this time. Might have to make some last minute adjustments when we get there. Wouldn't be the first time :)

Perfect. I've driven the GRR from the start at Lake Itasca in Minnesota to the end at Venice, LA. Done the IA/IL/WI/MN stretch 14 or so times and am looking forward to doing in ya'lls company.

Any designated food bathroom-ness?

OR just the lunch time.

:iagree:

Jsolo 04-19-2019 11:00 AM

Stops are about every 60-90 min, at a gas station... with bathrooms :)

What do you think, this is some kind of amateur settings this up?!@# :)

Was hoping so... I'm bringing the Camaro. So, erm... mileage is a concern.

lol

I thought the camaro had at least a 17gal tank, and got ~25mpg at highway speeds, even with the big v8?

Cruise control @ 70 mph the whole tank gave me 25 mpg.

It does have a 19 gal tank too! But i'm not picturing lots of cruise-control happening
