will check the alignment on it, i didnt notice anything when i eye balled it, but i can def feel the extra power, as the tcs is kicking in where is didnt before!

I definitely feel the new power, the car "woke" up.

With my left tip I can manage to fit a finger between the top of the tip and bumper. right tip can't fit anything. It's a difference of maybe 2mm and not noticeable unless you really look at it. (unfortuantely I know its there :ugh2:) I might have to use washers on the right side.

hmm I think you need direct light from the ground level shining on them to really see , it's really hard to tell on yours. From the pic they look almost the same. I'm probably going to call Tony see what he thinks.

you can try and adjust the farthest rear hanger, i unscrewed it yesterday, there are 3 screws and you can adjust it a tiny bit, it might help.

That's what I will likely do, unscrew right rear hanger and add 1 or maybe 2 washers.

i have a small exhaust leak, i made my own gaskets out of cork, hope that isnt the issue, also had to buy my own hardware as the seller didnt give me any. I actually think the bolts i used are the issue and they are not 100% threaded and have a gap of unthreaded part of the bolt i think that section is to large and will not allow me to torque the bolts down properly. will find out soon when i decide to get back under her! lol (must get a creeper to save my back on concrete)

Use a cardboard box! works wonders for your back  Also call Tony, he will ship you the hardware maybe even for free (or a small fee).

erkthejerk73 04-14-2012 11:25 AM

just found out the bolt is the issue, not 100% sure y i didnt think of that yesterday, but good news i found some bolts i never used for my ART pipes so those will work and then i found some 1/4 inch spacers from my old plenum spacer that will work on the other bolts that i have to use! fugging thinking outside le box!

Yeah I just used a thick card board box and it was pretty good for laying on...the problem with creepers is they rais you up (even the low profile ones) which means less room.

yeah scumbag low profile jacks that done raise the car up much!

ZMan8 04-14-2012 11:40 AM

I have low profile jack that can raise the car to 24" It's the jack stands that are limiting.

what jack is that? mine does 18 inch i think

ZMan8 04-14-2012 11:46 AM

Actually after checking 24" is the jack I was going to get:Low Profile Floor Jack - 2 Ton, Rapid Pump® Jack

Mine is smaller and goes to 20"

erkthejerk73 04-14-2012 11:54 AM

i have a harbor freight one, and a craftsman one. both do the job i guess.

ok off to get the impact back out!

I wish there was a couple more inches of space sometimes...I can't fit the breaker bar in there (22" breaker bar)

erkthejerk73 04-14-2012 01:43 PM

anyone think this is an exhaust leak? i just tightened everything up again and was under the car while it was running but i didnt see or smell any exhaust there.

not sure how to embed photobucket videos 2012-04-14_14-13-02_836.mp4 video by erkthejerk73 - Photobucket

That sounds like the "hiss" that HFC , TP and LTH make. You have any of those on your car. If you do, then it's normal

ZMan8 04-14-2012 01:46 PM

a general rule, hiss on deacceleration = normal, hissing, rattling, etc noises on acceleration need to be check out to make sure everything it tightened.

erkthejerk73 04-14-2012 01:50 PM

yeah i have ART pipes

Then it's normal

just the noise the vq makes, once you put aftermarket CBe and change out the cats you will have that. The more open the exhaust, the more noticeable the noise.

For the front I think you will still need to drive up something or first jack up the front using the side jack points. Another member here has the long low profile jack, still can't get it to the front lift point.

On a side note...

I installed my Fast Intentions Non-Resonated this weekend with stock cats and it sound EVERYthing I wanted it to be. In fact, i'd go so far as to say there's a little drone on the highway that i'm looking to eliminate with some Dynamat in the trunk area.

If you have a Z you MUST buy fast intentions. :driving:

Meh FI exhaust does not really have the exotic sound like i was looking for. Really reminds me of the HKS setup on a 300zx!
