Well so much for the Z. Plans sort of changed and I guess it was a better decision not to get the Z(for now). I needed a more reliable commuter and something more family friendly. I picked up a 2014 Camry SE Sport today. The Z will come in time.

Arrvaxx 10-06-2013 04:15 PM

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully it won't take too long!

Arrvaxx 10-06-2013 07:19 PM

I would post a WTB in the private classifieds. I'm sure someoen will sell you one for dirt cheap.

What did you dooooo???

Arrvaxx 10-11-2013 10:02 AM

I think it stems from when I put on the new springs. I am sure I f'd it up. Live and learn.

Your exhaust come yet!?

I took out and shipped my Typhoons today and my son and I are taking off the exhaust this weekend and I'm shipping it out Monday. Means I can't drive but I need the money...Tony IS running a business.

yes, exhaust came in yesterday. I got the full catback and both OEM cats off last night. After that I called it a night. Won't get to it tonight, but should be able to finish it up tomorrow morning, and then of course break it in :)

What exhaust are you putting on the car for when you ship it? or how is that going to work?

Arrvaxx 10-11-2013 10:54 AM

I figured I'd ship it without but include a pair of earplugs. It is just going on the truck and off.

rlhotka 10-11-2013 01:28 PM

Are you guys geeting together tonight at Sonic? What time?

I won't make it tonight. Car is on jack stands with no front wheels on it, no intakes, no cats or catback. Will be finishing up the install tomorrow morning.

I also have a going away happy hour to attend for my boss. I do plan on getting together with a few G37's this weekend though. Watch some football and cruise. LMK if you wanna join!

yeeeah, that shouldn't be a problem.

I've been considering flying out to Cali again for a week to help with some of the TT installs.

Arrvaxx 10-11-2013 06:38 PM

Huh...took off the exhaust (catback).

Um...

Ok, so the car starts and the rpms can get to 3000 but then it sounds like it hits a limiter. ECU confused now?

its not necessarily the ECU, its the fact that there's zero back pressure to maintain a steady RPM.

I have it on jacks so I can swap the brake lines out for stainless steel. Once I am done with that this weekend I need to try and get it out of the garage. I hope it has enough stability to be able to get up a ramp and on to a truck!!!

If it doesn't I'll need to make sure the transport dudes have a winch! Ugh.

Also, I can still hear your new exhaust Lance! So sweet!

Trust me....I'm straight up addicted. Even drove the Z to work today. I absolutely canNOT get enough of the car right now. Saturday afternoon when I finish the install, I took it for a "break-in" cruise, and not even a mile away from my house I got 2 different thumbs ups from drivers around me. Then at the stoplight I had a guy yell out his window "sick car mannnn, sounds sick!!".

1cleanZ 10-15-2013 02:48 PM

damn it i'm not ready for winter, OR to be storing the Z. On the way home last night, my car barely even got off the 140 degree mark for oil temp by the time I got home :( The Z no likey....

With talks of snow possibly this weekend....I'm afraid the Z might be put away very soon here

Arrvaxx 10-15-2013 02:50 PM

Snow already. Ugh. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Anyone know a good tuner shop for Z's in MN?

I'm currently saving for a GTM SC kit. Don't want to get it if there isn't a good tuner in MN that can tune a Z.

Arrvaxx 10-16-2013 09:46 AM

Can't answer that...but get the SC anyway. ;)

DB Performance in Rogers is definitely the only reputable place to tune the "VQ" around here. Otherwise I'd highly recommend taking it down to Chicago to AMS or Project X.

SmoothZ 10-20-2013 09:29 AM

Wow, I remember the last 2 Halloweens were relatively warm. This weather pattern is spoiling my month.

On the other hand, I'm glad Congress was able to come to a compromise. I can get paid again!

I'm also thinking of putting the Z away for the winter. I spent hours working on the yard and garage. Half the work of storing a Z is getting the garage ready.

Hey guys I just purchased a 2013 nismo! Glad to see a lot of Z guys in mn!

A Nismo, wow, that is awesome, grats!

The Z is always in the back of my mind.

I'm starting to see one almost everywhere I go, saw a few in downtown Minneapolis, one cruising in the next lane, I couldn't catch up to it sadly.

A few weekends ago, some kind of caravan pulled up in front of my house. They had a 370Z in their group. Not sure what they were all doing, driving around the neighborhood? :icon17:

Very nice congrats! You driving it through the winter or purchase it just in time to store it before the snow hits this afternoon? :shakes head:

mnz 11-05-2013 04:04 PM

Sadly just to put her in storage, which sucks really bad. She won't be seeing no snow at all

That's good news though. I did the same thing w/ my G37 back in 2010. Perfect time to buy, just hard to have to store it right away. It will pay off in spring time though :)

yeah i just got it yesterday. had some scratches and stuff working with the dealership to fix it because they said no scratches when it was sold to me. By the way, my names tony, might know me as zanes friend that has been looking for a Z.

SmoothZ 11-10-2013 07:09 PM

My Z is now stored for the winter. :(

nutflush24 11-11-2013 01:54 PM

I just picked up an old jeep for the winter so the z has been a daily driver up to this morning.

The potenza's that come on the sport wheels... Man! I know the manufacturers comments about cold weather come as a warning but wow. These tires do not like the cold, more so than I imagined.

Tony, glad to see you found the forum as well. I'm Lance which we conversed a bit on IG.

Better get the dealer to get the black Nismo looking fresh!!! Will you have it back by this weekend? Some of us might be getting together Saturday or Sunday depending if the rain holds out. Who would have thought we'd be having this weather in November? (NOT complaining!!!!!!)

There's not a whole lot you need to you. Some use a batter tender, jack the car up or just put carpet squares under the tires to prevent flat spots, and a bottle of fuel stapilizer to prevent breakdown of the gas.

I bought my G35 coupe back in '08 from Alabama just seeing photos and had it shipped up and when it arrived it looked freakin' TRASHED! Definitely negotiate it, I had it quoted for a full professional detail at $450- which they sent me a check for.

Depending on how bad it is, one of the best detailers in the country lives right in Shakopee (Rasky).

mnz 11-14-2013 01:24 PM

Yeah in the process of it, got a quote at Nissan wayzata for 1700. They stayed no removable scratches or improper paint repairs, which there is. So I'm just waiting on a reply from the gm. I have all paper work signed from them stating it's supposed to be clean to! They practically screwed themselves
