Hey guys/girls,

Wanting to get a cruise together in some city (preferrably near the midwest) for a bunch of z owners! I finally took some PTO so I am free 06/16 - 06/21! Lets get something organized in a larger city for sometime around that date? Kansas City, St Louis, Chicago? I posted this in the regional thread section as well. Let me know if anyone is interested!! :driving:

Finally!!! Another Iowan! There's a couple of us on this forum from the Cedar Rapids area.... I'd be up for a little get together. Heck, even just Des Moines.... pm me or let us know whereever and whenever.

P.S. I see you bought your Z from Hummel's. I like that dealership... wife and I bought our 2007 Altima SE V6 there a few years back. Loved it there.

awesome! Lets get something set up! Hummels has always been great to me as well, and I live less than a block from the dealership so it made the transaction very easy! Do you know anyone else in the area with a Z?

I am born and raised in Iowa. Not there now of course. Newton and Garner are the towns I claim. Hope you all get something together....Ciao!

If it is just a quick one day get together, I could make it. Only thing is the weather has to be nice. I won't drive my Z in bad weather, including rain (there could be hail). Des Moines sounds ok to me. Would be nice to only have to drive for about 2 hours.

To the OP, Des Moines is fine, or even kindda 1/2way, let's meet in Iowa City? I'd be up for that... Any other Z's in your area?

I bought a 2011 MB touring six speed sport from Hummels. Ordered it in late December and it arrived in late March. Live in Ankeny. Mine's a daily driver....I don't buy to 'em to just look at!

so what's the scoop? we getting together? My vote is Iowa city ;)

well I wont have my car up and running until june 15th, I was hoping to shoot for anywhere between the 15th and the 19th (weds thru sun)

I'm ok with either/any of those dates. Who else is in? Maybe we could meet at AutoToyz in IA city? then get something to eat somewhere there?

ahh i wish i woulda seen this earlier and woulda thrown kc out there. i want to meet some midwest z owners but iowa city is a ways away from kc

I am down for anyplace, I am not familiar with IA city so someone else should probably pick the location and time..

I am more then willing to do that, we have to all compromise though, so far the only ppl showing a lot of interest are myself (des moines area) fromg2z (cedar rapids area) and edub (kc area) lets find a happy medium!

sbrubak would do Iowa City too, and I think I'll find some other info on a few more Z folks here in the area. I know for a fact that Iowa City would be a great spot for all those folks. (Sorry KC). We can also grab some grub and drinks there too... college town...

I am up for anything, whatever location gets us the most z's in one spot is best imo.

well des moines would be right in the middle of cedar rapids and kc if anyone from that area is willing to do that

if the cedar rapids guys would be willing to do des moines and the Kansas city guys are willing to do des moines, that is fine with me as well, IDC where we do this I just want to get some z's together! :driving:

Not sure if anyone is interested but, one of my best friends is the president of the iowa subaru club and he is very interested in turning this into a joint meet with the subie guys, should give us a lot more cars and it would also allow the KC guys to partake as well, any input on this option??

FUNNY. You guys must have ESP. I have several buddies here that are also members of that Subaru club. In fact, they just had a meet in Iowa City the previous weekend, then I think another one in MO.

So yes, most definitely, coupling it with the Subie guys would be rockin'. I'll get with a couple of my guys and let you guys know.

this is coming together nicely, let me know what you are thinking and I will let my subie guys know as well as a couple 350z guys, the main benefit to having the meet in Des Moines will be the inclusion of the KC guys.

Ok I spoke to my buddies who are members on the Iowa Subie club, and it sounds like the Subie meet is officially on Wednesday nights, and that the prez was not willing to move it to another night (weekend day). So, for us Cedar Rapids folks at least, not sure we're going to make a Wednesday night meet in Des Moines.

If the meet was during the week, it would have to be IA City for me/us since we have work the next day. If the weekend, Des Moines is possible.

Also, maybe some Subie guys here around the area are willing to do a weeknight meet in IA City (not part of the big Des Moines official thingy)... I'd be up for that.

we could also move the meet to the 17th or 18th? that would be next friday or saturday night?
A) we do the meet on 17th or 18th in Des Moines and we get to include the KC guys and CR guys
B) we do the meet on a weeknight in IA City and the KC guys cant come
C) we do the meet on a weekend night in IA City and the KC guys still cant come.

I gang. I could do Des Moines. The day may be in question. Wednesday or Thursday (15th and 16th) would be okay. Would be nice to meet early afternoon so that I could head home by say 9 pm. Friday would be out since I have a birthday party to go to at 6 pm. Have a car show and a wedding planned for Saturday (18th). Keep me posted.

I have a buddy sith an sti down here that will spread the word on the sti forum for the 18th if we are willing to settle on that date for des moines.

Alright guys.... some updates. My buddies who know the Iowa Subie club have set up a 2x a month get-together, not officially a Subie-only meet. This is separate from the big Des Moines get-together.

This meet isn't Subaru specific, just hosted by the local Iowa Subaru Club guys. Meet and greet with some local car people.

Come out and join us. Several Z's will be there too, along with STi's of course ;)




As for the 18th in Des Moines, I am a negative for that. Apparently, my wife scheduled a couple of surprises for me for Father's Day! She scheduled a professional photoshoot for me and my Z (Ken, should I let them use my DSLR?!?!? LOL). Then she got us tickets to go to the Quad City Air Show!!! The Blue Angels will be there!

Depending on the time the photo shoot gets done Saturday and when we leave for Quad Cities, I can probably do a local/IA City meet that day... But don't schedule around me. You guys set it up, and if I can make it I will be there.

Meanwhile, don't forget about the local/CR Subie/Z meet this Saturday.

I think Steve from CR is going to make it there. I won't be able to. I'll try to pass on the word to other Z's here in/around town. But it sounds like it will be mostly Des Moines Z's, and MO Z's???
