MigMac 02-12-2014 05:25 PM

Hey guys. Just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to the site and have had my Z for almost a year. I live in Shawnee and hope to get to know a few guys to bounce some ideas off of for my car. I am just a hard up to get the car out to blow out the cobwebs out of it.

Welcome MigMac! Any mods to the cars as of yet???

MigMac 02-12-2014 06:27 PM

Stock right now. Looking at a brake upgrade. SS lines, rotors, pads. Thinking real hard at zSpeed's street package with EBC pads and rotors.

Welcome. I think the ZSpeed 2 piece rotor group buy is still active?

MigMac 02-12-2014 07:32 PM

Damn, I like those 2 piece rotors. Don't know if I can justify the price for a primarily street driven car.

Welcome to the forums! This may seem a little pushy but I am trying to sell an exhaust in the future... possibly. So if you are in the market for a JDM exhaust I'll be here.

Also go back a few pages and read up on the post about the BMW/Z get together in May. Maybe plan ahead and see if you can make it.

MigMac 02-13-2014 04:21 AM

Thanks Gilianz. I will check out the get together.

i was in the same boat. I decided to go with Stoptech's slotted rotors for my car about a month ago.

I've only driven on them once, but so far so good.

sboden 02-13-2014 01:33 PM

Keep me up to date on the stoptech's because brakes are coming up in the near future.

Gilianz 02-13-2014 10:35 PM

All this car talk is making me ancy for a get together and drive.

Ghostvette 02-14-2014 03:12 PM

All this talk about brakes and exhausts have got me to finally make up my mind. I'm going to get a set of the stock Rays, put 20mm spacers on, then upgrade to the Akebono BBK. Then I'll convert my 18s to blizzaks and put them away until winter. I've decided on the exhaust, FI TDX CBE with 18" resonators. That way if I decide to TT it, the GTM turbos will bolt right up to the exhaust. :)

I have a set of clean stock rays if you want to buy them. If your interested you can come take a look to see if you want them. I had 20mm spacers too...but just sold those couple weeks back.

Cool, let me get back from my road trip and we can talk about them.

Sweet Sounds Good

sboden 02-14-2014 08:41 PM

Was thinking about these also...they don't have the rear out yet but should be soon.... Z1 2 Piece Akebono Front Rotors

edub370 02-15-2014 12:12 PM

i would love to have some 2 piece rotors. i just cant justify the cost since i drive my car on the streets 99% of the time

MigMac 02-16-2014 06:55 PM

Damn you guys. All this talk about 2 piece rotors has me thinking about getting a set. The Z1 rotors look to be about 200 bucks cheaper, but I am not familiar with the rotor manufacturer. The 20 pound drop (total) in unsprung weight is tempting. I will have to do some research on the popularity of the two brands and see which is more popular.

DEpointfive0 02-16-2014 07:05 PM

Z1 FTW, call John and tell him Andrew the ásshole sent you.

99% of my driving is on the street too, and you feel that weight loss, especially if you're lead footed like me

edub370 02-17-2014 08:13 AM

lol dang, now i'm regretting not going with 2 piece z1 rotors

You and me both. The ranger doesn't quite cut it.

sboden 02-21-2014 09:44 PM

Less gas than the truck and more fun

So nice out today

Indeed. I ran the Z through the 'automatic car scratcher' (well, the touchless one) by my apartment, then vacuumed it out. Much better. :)

BTW pb, you have a PM from me. :)

JacksonZ33 02-22-2014 05:38 PM

am I too late for the party???

guess who's back in the z game......:driving:
