Congrats on quitting smoking. I quit 35+ years ago and am really glad I did. It's actually easier to quit now because so many places are non-smoking. 35+ years ago people smoked everwhere so you never really got away from it.

I took an over the counter product called Bantron which I credit me success to. I don't know if it's still available or not.

Even after 35+ years there are still times, especially after eating a nice dinner, I lean back and think..."A Lucky Strike sure would taste good now."

Good luck. It gets a little easier every day.

lol congrats on 3+ years of being done smoking!

Thanks for the support. Well 36 hours and counting. I'm starting smell things I didn't smell before and some of them I wish I couldn't :barf: . I'm using the patch and it seems to be working. As a motivation device I have my last pack of smokes sitting next to me. So every time I look at them, it reminds me how much they have f*cked up my health up over the years. At the same time I think I'm going to have a lollipop addiction when it's all said and done.

A bunch of my buddies use e-Cigs since it was more of going through the motions of smoking rather than needing one itself out of habit. He has tried quitting many times as well and I think the e-Cigs has been the most beneficial for him.

Nicely done pbhakta. What method did you use to crack open your lights?

Used oven method lens up 250 degrees for 15 mins. Score it with a screw driver and pry away. The diy video helped a lot.

Nahh. I don't even want to fake it. I just want to be done 100%. Tired of the smell and burning sh*t when I'm drunk.

No...well one. That was my biggest reason to quit smoking. Well other than my health. Just got tired of searching like a crackhead when I ran out of smokes. No more. 3 days and counting. I still feel like I could punch a baby in the face for a cigarette but neither one would get me any closer to my goal of quitting.

I'm at 4 days myself. Urges are lessening (they say the first 3 days are the hardest), but not gone by any means. I actually miss smoking.

My regular Karaoke show in Raytown, is a smoking bar. I fear I'll be tempted to light one up while I'm in there.

tower74 03-28-2013 02:10 PM

Miss it....hell yes. My job can be boring as hell sometimes and I would smoke a lot. Now I just chew the f@ck out of some gum. At the same time it has to be done.
