I went twice last year to the last HPDE days. One with the Z Car club of OK for Midwest Z Fest (dismal turnout with 9 cars) and another for a groupon (lots of cars and other makes as well). Very well organized and super friendly. It's hard on brakes though, so make sure you're 100% on pads/rotors and you need race brake fluid. Most of the stock brake fluid guys boiled. You may have all this already.
You want to check the Highs Speed Touring Series. There's a driver education class to attend and a membership fee. After that, I think it's $100 per event and they are the last weekend of each month. Email connie@hallettracing.net Here is the latest email she sent out: Hi, COMMA/ HST drivers, We thank you for your valued participation in COMMA and HST at Hallett for the 2011 season. We are in the process of preparing for the upcoming COMMA Challenge / HST events. We have the tentative schedule for our 8 rounds already posted on the website: March 31/April 1 (no fooling!), April 28-29, May 26-27, June 30/ July 1, July 28-29, August 25-26, Sept 29-30,Oct 27-28 (some extra T&Ts and HST only events will be added when we get the entire calendar together.)
