New Oklahoma Nismo 370 Z owner here. I am north of OKC in Edmond. Here is my O.P. in the Welcome section:

Hi everyone I am Matt. I just bought a 2010 Nismo edition Z Magnetic Black with Navigation. Love the car so far. I have 300,000 plus miles on Hondas including two Integras [one 97 GSR I had for 16 years that I just sold and had 211,000 miles] a turbocharged 2000 NSX-T that I still have and have miles on two Legends my folks owned years ago. Oh I also drove some miles on my sisters Accord and Prelude. Needless to say I love Hondas however, I am looking forward to my first Nissan. Its not exactly my first because I did buy my mom an I35 in 2004 and that awesome car has 185,000 on it now and still going strong. I am hoping my 2010 NISMO edition will give me many reliable years of trouble free driving just like all the Hondas I experienced.

Anyway, I am contemplating an oil cooler for the Z. I am reading some stuff on here about the Z1 Motorsports cooler and the Stillen cooler. I will be auto crossing the car and some small track use i.e. 1 mile long tracks or so. I live in Oklahoma and it gets hot here. Well into the hundreds in summer and cold in winter. It commonly gets to the 30's and 20's here. So, I think I need the thermostatic plate as not to over cool it if there is such a thing. Any opinions on which is the best cooler and how many rows it should be etc would be appreciated.

I also have plans to replace the rotors with Stoptech Crossdrilleds, Stainless lines, Hawk HPS Pads and Motul 600 fluid. Any advice or thoughts would be great.

Thanks again, take care and see you around the board.

Within the past couple of weeks there was a discussion on OKZCC FB page about oil coolers. You'll find some good advice there.

Thanks Fellas. I requested a join for the FB Page. I also got the 25 row with thermo plate and heat shield and K&N Typhoon filters. My tuner is going to tune the throttle response up a bit. I think it runs too rich because the tail pipes are trashed. At 16,000 miles the tail pipes are trashed; all burned up. Also, I called the dealer and that steering control unit recall does not apply according to them...?

No prob man :tiphat:

Yeah it definitely sounds to me like your running rich. You would think that since it was a recall they would address it

Btw I noticed in your Sig you own a NSX I love those cars!

The Steering lock recall should apply to a 2010, unlesss they assume you have a RevD maybe?

Yeah thanks buddy. I love the NSX. Have had mine for almost 10 years now. My installer said he can tune the car too to get rid of the strange throttle response, rich condition and governor; $600. Anyway, I got the oil cooler on and its great. Takes a long time for the temp to hit 180 degrees now when its 40 degrees outside but that's better than overheating in 100 degree weather. K&N filters are great too. I have never owned a car that didn't have those.
