Bite me... She really wanted this to see everyone and finally have a relaxing time. She's going to see if they'd make an exception since it's a holiday weekend.

My company is celebrating the 4th on the 3rd, so I'm only having to take Thursday and Monday off.

The fastest route takes me all the way through the wonderful state of Illynoise.

Considering what I'm bringing along, that doesn't seem like a very good idea. :ugh2: I definitely have no desire to see the inside of an ISP state lockup for transporting alcohol across state lines or anything else for that matter.

The next fastest route takes me up to Cedar Rapids and across I80, still a little too close to Crook County....:icon14:

I think I'm going to go across I70 to almost Indianapolis, then head north on 31.

Thoughts?

Transporting liquor across state lines for personal consumption is fine.

I've found that if you show them off properly, the officer will typically keep his distance ;)

Usually resulting in jail time or death....... :eekdance:

I think I'm going to do like Charlie Daniels in "Uneasy Rider", re-route my trip and avoid Illynoise.....

I travel through that state about twice a year. With the motor home. I'm loaded for bear. The car or truck, normally 2 pistols. Mine and wifey. Keep them hidden.

:icon14: How often do you go to the range? I always keep an extra identity on me for just such occasions.

How often do you encounter bears in Illinois? Is that where Jellystone Park is?

I'm usually at the range twice a month. I'm not worried about going to and from the range, Kansas has constitutional carry, so I don't need a permit to travel between Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas. However, I've got enough time to have Kansas re-issue my permit before I go to Michigan.

Not many places to hide them in the Z and keep them easily accessible. :icon14:
