Hey, it's been a while, man! You should come out to a meet soon. Of course, I could say the same to myself, but nonetheless. |
@Shadoquad
Yeah I know. It's been tough trying to find a free weekend lately. I'll try to check in more often to see when/where local meets are. I'd like to make it out soon to see everyone again. |

Filthy black NISMO on Fairfax County Pkwy going towards Burke around 2/3ish today. I was in the white NISMO, and was as dirty until I found a hand wash place in Tysons today.
|
Saw a Monterey Blue 370Z getting onto 95 S from 100 W at around 8:15 this morning.
|
PG Nismo spotted at Christiana Mall yesterday (2/20). I was in my DD but I saw you patrolling the parking lot... Young asian driver, looking for mall rats :)
|
Saw another one today, I must be like a 370 magnet today or something :)
It was a black cherry roadster on 95 S around 2 pm this afternoon. I was on 95 N and spotted it from the other side of the highway. |
Not me... My roadster is safely tucked away in the garage...
|
PW Base 370Z in a parking garage off Gristmill Road in Alexandria.
Also a MB Base 370Z in Fair Lakes parked on the road near the Malibu Grill. |
Spotted a PW 370Z w/sport package headed south on I-495 around 9:15AM by the Oxon Hill on ramp headed toward the Woodrow Wilson bridge. Had New Jersey Plates on.
|
Saw a Monterey Blue 370Z parked in next to the Chemical & Nuclear Engineering building at UMCP. Something tells me ill be being this one quite often...

I was a former undergrad student (majored in business) and am now full-time staff with UMCP. I figured you either had to be staff or an engineering/plant science student since no one hardly ever walks past lot KK. |

Passed a roadster going the other way on Indian River Rd in the "back woods" of Va Beach.
Looked looked like a Black Cherry but could of been Black. Waved and the driver waved back. Didn't catch the license plate number. |
Saw a black cherry roadster in MD with some guy slaving over it putting on Adams Polishes Americana Wax... Oh wait that was me...

The gunmetal E46 M3 you see parked out there belongs to a professor as well. |
This past week I just drove from El Paso Texas through San Antonio,Austin, Fort Worth, Oklahoma City, Witchita, Kansas City, Omaha, Des Moines and now Im on my way back and I haven't seen 1 370z. I figured at least one in the cities.

I wish I was one of the professors... if I made what some of them are making right now I wouldn't be in a 370Z :rofl2: |

I work in financial planning/management. Around here, if you're supporting a typical family, you need to make around $250k to feel truly "comfortable." |

As for a basic breakdown... Graduate students and researchers: 27k - 31k (depending on time there) Postdocs: ~40k Faculty (depending on title and tenure): ranges from 67k as far up as 200k+ for chair/department heads Then there are some special cases where a professor is being paid by two departments and they cap out even higher. |
You can make good money around here as an engineer, but you just have to find the right company. At this point in your life though (early 20's), $250k is obviously way more than you need. Right now, you by yourself probably only need 75k-80k to live reasonably well. Once you add a wife and kids, that's when the 200k+ income really helps.
Chemical Engineering has some of the highest salaries for all engineers, so I think you will be just fine  |
Never settle for "enough" money! I hated people figuring in if I had a family, mortgage etc... What I say is you earn your worth, no matter your situation. So if you're worth 250k to a company at 19yrs old or 65...TAKE IT.
