It was good to be able to see what my car looks like from an outside looking in perspective. Such a sexy/aggressive car from all angles.

What really strikes me, and something you don't really notice when the Z's parked, is how wide and low it appears. I really like how this car sort of has an exotic look, at least when you throw it in with the rest of traffic which is mostly full of dull/boring vehicles.

It made me smile inside and reminded me of why I love my car so much.

:hello:

Hey, it's been a while, man! You should come out to a meet soon. Of course, I could say the same to myself, but nonetheless.

@Shadoquad
Yeah I know. It's been tough trying to find a free weekend lately. I'll try to check in more often to see when/where local meets are. I'd like to make it out soon to see everyone again.

Cool. Yeah, check the Starbux thread once in a while. I think the meet is in Fairfax this weekend, but next weekend should be MD again.

Filthy black NISMO on Fairfax County Pkwy going towards Burke around 2/3ish today. I was in the white NISMO, and was as dirty until I found a hand wash place in Tysons today.

b1adesofcha0s 02-21-2011 07:56 AM

Saw a Monterey Blue 370Z getting onto 95 S from 100 W at around 8:15 this morning.

steveg78 02-21-2011 09:45 AM

PG Nismo spotted at Christiana Mall yesterday (2/20). I was in my DD but I saw you patrolling the parking lot... Young asian driver, looking for mall rats :)

b1adesofcha0s 02-21-2011 03:48 PM

Saw another one today, I must be like a 370 magnet today or something :)

It was a black cherry roadster on 95 S around 2 pm this afternoon. I was on 95 N and spotted it from the other side of the highway.

Kirkster 02-21-2011 03:53 PM

Not me... My roadster is safely tucked away in the garage...

GM_Traitor3.5 02-23-2011 01:32 PM

PW Base 370Z in a parking garage off Gristmill Road in Alexandria.

Also a MB Base 370Z in Fair Lakes parked on the road near the Malibu Grill.

ZCarMan 03-08-2011 03:05 PM

Spotted a PW 370Z w/sport package headed south on I-495 around 9:15AM by the Oxon Hill on ramp headed toward the Woodrow Wilson bridge. Had New Jersey Plates on.

b1adesofcha0s 03-09-2011 12:58 PM

Saw a Monterey Blue 370Z parked in next to the Chemical & Nuclear Engineering building at UMCP. Something tells me ill be being this one quite often...

No offense, but if they replaced Megan Fox with you in a wig, I'm demanding my $$$ back.

1) I said I was a transformer as in the car that transforms into a robot. :p

2) You haven't paid any $$$ yet, so you can't demand it back. :roflpuke2:

That would be me!

I just picked my Z up, brand new 2011.

Wow, Congrats and welcome! Are you student/faculty/staff at UMCP? I'm a junior chemical engineering major. If you ever see a gray 370Z on campus, its probably me. I park in lot 6.

Thanks!

I was a former undergrad student (majored in business) and am now full-time staff with UMCP.

I figured you either had to be staff or an engineering/plant science student since no one hardly ever walks past lot KK.

Cool! Yeah I usually leave from the back exit of the chemical engineering building. I've been looking for your car again ever since I saw It that one day. Sorry if I seem kind of stalkerish, but I was excited to see another Z in the community. I hardly ever see any 370Z's outside of our weekly Starbucks meets.

VABAM 03-18-2011 06:09 PM

Passed a roadster going the other way on Indian River Rd in the "back woods" of Va Beach.
Looked looked like a Black Cherry but could of been Black.
Waved and the driver waved back.
Didn't catch the license plate number.

Kirkster 03-18-2011 06:15 PM

Saw a black cherry roadster in MD with some guy slaving over it putting on Adams Polishes Americana Wax... Oh wait that was me...

If you named some of your Chem E. professors I could most likely tell you what they drive as they all park in that lot haha.

The gunmetal E46 M3 you see parked out there belongs to a professor as well.

Lemers 03-18-2011 06:31 PM

This past week I just drove from El Paso Texas through San Antonio,Austin, Fort Worth, Oklahoma City, Witchita, Kansas City, Omaha, Des Moines and now Im on my way back and I haven't seen 1 370z. I figured at least one in the cities.

Well I come out of that door that is right ahead of the parking lot, so I never really look back at the cars that are there. I could just go down the list of my professors, but I'll just PM it to you. I am interested in what cars they drive. I thought you might have been one of my professors too at first :icon17:

PM replied.

I wish I was one of the professors... if I made what some of them are making right now I wouldn't be in a 370Z :rofl2:

Yeah, but even if they do have really nice cars campus is probably the worst place to bring them. For those who do, they probably just bring their DD.

If we are going there...

I did not see one in Riga, Latvia.
I did not see one in Juarez, Mexico
I did not see one in Amman, Jordan

All in the last three weeks...
Good to be home to play with my Wife and my Z, not sure about the order though...

Just out of curiosity, how much do you think that they make?

Well I remember one day in our school's newspaper they published some of the professor's salaries. I didn't read the article myself, but heard from other people that they were making 6 figure salaries.

Unfortunately, with the cost of houses around here, 6-figure salaries don't go nearly as far as you'd think...

:iagree:

I work in financial planning/management. Around here, if you're supporting a typical family, you need to make around $250k to feel truly "comfortable."

Daaaaayyyyymmmmm. That's crazy. Is that just for the wealthier areas in NoVa/MD/DC? I hope so because that will seriously affect my future plans. I know engineers make good money but idk if its anywhere near $250k.

Not likely for a while.

Well I used to do the payroll and accounting for that department so I know exactly how much they all make. :rofl2:

As for a basic breakdown...

Graduate students and researchers: 27k - 31k (depending on time there)

Postdocs: ~40k

Faculty (depending on title and tenure): ranges from 67k as far up as 200k+ for chair/department heads

Then there are some special cases where a professor is being paid by two departments and they cap out even higher.

NCSUPACK09 03-19-2011 05:54 PM

You can make good money around here as an engineer, but you just have to find the right company. At this point in your life though (early 20's), $250k is obviously way more than you need. Right now, you by yourself probably only need 75k-80k to live reasonably well. Once you add a wife and kids, that's when the 200k+ income really helps.

Chemical Engineering has some of the highest salaries for all engineers, so I think you will be just fine

steveg78 03-19-2011 06:03 PM

Never settle for "enough" money! I hated people figuring in if I had a family, mortgage etc... What I say is you earn your worth, no matter your situation. So if you're worth 250k to a company at 19yrs old or 65...TAKE IT.
