VIR in october anyone?
I'll be going to the Nasa Event at VIR for hpde the weekend of October 12th. Will anyone else be out there?
maybe for me HPDE-1
I'll be instructing. I've got a paddock room and a paddock garage reserved, come find me!
If I wasn't going to be away on business I would go.
I love VIR! You guys have fun! |

Mike can I sleep in your garage?
yeah, I don't get to choose. Last time I ran with NASA MA, they did give me another forum member to instruct though.
Any way that I can request you? (And would you be okay with that?)
I'm ok with it, email the registrar and ask them would be the best way.
So I waited too long to book a room and ended up with a hotel 8 miles from the track. Oh well, should still be fun.
Last time I went, I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Danville. Its a nice hotel, but I discovered the next week when I got to my Las Vegas layover that the $300 I had stashed in an inside pocket of my suitcase for gambling with was gone. That was the only place my suitcase had been since I had put the money in it.

I'll try to be there... looks likely. Mike, do you run in TT or DE3? if TT, which class?
Also, CHIN at RA 9/28 |
no, I just run in the instructor group, which I think with them might be 3, or might be a separate group they don't publish? I don't remember. Would like to pick your brain there on how to class my car though. I want to start TT.
that's terrific... VIR 2013 records are below... TTB looks like a good place to be. I'll be running TT2 but last time out I was 5 seconds off that pace - I can probably find 2-4 seconds but I won't be beating that # this year most likely. TT2/3 are based upon power to weight ratios, but TT3 has some aero restrictions you'll want to check out. Scroll to bottom of this page and check out the TT classing rules if you haven't already NASA Class and Series Rules - National Auto Sport Association - nasaproracing.com
TT2 2:04.631 2/17/2013 Joe Mulholand Chevrolet Corvette TT3 2:06.771 2/17/2013 Olivier Raoust BMW M3 TTA 2:01.525 10/13/2012 Mark Nunnally Chevrolet Corvette Z06 TTB 2:08.320 3/27/2010 Eric Wong BMW M3 TTC 2:11.056 10/9/2011 Scott Blair BMW M3 |
2 11 seems like an overreach on stock z in ttc

I stayed there before, it is not bad at all. Make sure you fill up your tank in the morning
TT3 is the place for a 370Z under the 2013/2014 rules but if a TT3 corvette shows up you can expect to lose.

Yes they are about 50 cents more. Also bring 4 credit cards, use before each sessions. Else it would suck to have them decline your card after two uses. I still say bring at last one 5 gal jug if possible

my mods make me a TTA (37 points) or TT2 3200/340 plus a .5 for aero = 8.91 I think.
TTA no longer exists.
NASA TT weight is as you come off the track, driver and everything you are wearing included. You can add up to 250 lbs of ballast. |
And I'm registered. HPDE3 Sat/Sun

I forgot about the 14 base points I also have to add for being a sport model. Wonder if they would let me go with the 7 point of a base instead, since aside from the SRM, every upgrade from the sport has been replaced, and those replacements also add points. Looks like double taxation to me. |
should be a great time with several of us there! We will outnumber the spec Zs probably!
TT2 is the place for you!

Jason, where are you staying?
Either my dad will have a room or I will be on Mike's garage floor. No joke, I'm cheap
