The oil pan seems like more of a "want" than a "need" for me. I'd do the oil cooler and a radiator first and see if my temps were ok.

Recommend a radiator?

If you live somewhere that gets hot, yeah. If it doesn't get too hot in the summer you might be ok. I'm in Texas, so it's pretty much a requirement.

I'm in Maryland so it's not usually THAT brutal but you never know. Any particular radiator I should look at?

Chuck33079 05-25-2013 03:42 PM

I've got a CSF and it's been great. Fits with stock fans, etc. GTM's got one but it's fairly pricey and I believe you might have to use their fans. The CSF was $600-$650 or so, but it's not really a DIY since you have to evacuate/recharge the AC system when you install it since the radiator is attached to the AC condensor. You may be ok without one since it's a SC setup. My turbos are oil and water cooled, so they ask a lot more of the cooling system. It won't ever hurt to add a radiator. If I were in your shoes, I'd hold off and see if temps are ok at the hottest part of the summer up there.

Ill go with the AAM oil pan and oil cooler. If that doesn't do the trick, ill look at radiators

Does that pan hang lower than stock? I've always been terrified of the oil pans and spacers that make the oil pan the lowest point of the car.

MyKindaGuise 05-25-2013 05:00 PM

The oil pan is great because it provides better cooling and it is pretapped for oil feed lines and stuff. Also with zspeed shroud I wouldn't worry about it. Plus DM you aren't lowered at all.

Chuck33079 05-25-2013 05:03 PM

I'm not sure if the zspeed panel works with a significantly lower oil pan. It's pretty close. If the OEM panel fits without bending the hell out of it, the zspeed will fit.

MyKindaGuise 05-25-2013 05:51 PM

I'm not sure how it will fit. I mean its only a spacer so might drop it an inch?

I think version V2 has been redesigned to accommodate lower oil pans.

Edit, yes, verified via their description,

I saw the stuff you posted on facebook. Looks great. You'll be done LONG before my SC kit is even built and shipped.

So was talking about gauges to a friend yesterday and he asked if there's a gauge cluster solution that replaces the OEM gauges - there are several for the WRX. I said I didn't think so and if there is, it's insanely expensive.

Short of buying individual gauges, do I have other options?
