I think my master slave cylinder or maybe CSC just went

Yesterday I noticed some odd behavior with my clutch "sticking" (but not grinding). I swapped out my floormats yesterday so I figured the clutch might have been catching but when I looked at it, it didn't seem likely. I wrote it off as a fluke.

I got up this morning and got in the car and the clutch pedal simply does not work. The pedal flips down to the floor and I have to flip it back up with my toe. It's like it's not connected to anything. Thinking CSC/Master cylinder?

Cody - need your input here.

Have you checked your clutch fluid?

dmhenderson 04-09-2013 07:21 AM

The car is just over 1 year old and was in for service 2 months ago. No chance that's the problem.

Same issue as this guy except I'm not going to try and be a daredevil and drive to the dealership.

That was happened to my Honda 2 weeks ago, low clutch fluid, pedal had no pressure and down to the flood when using it, could not even put in gear, if you can't put in gear, should be clutch fluid, it just a regular DOT3 brake fluid if you want to fill it up. Good luck, if I don't have some personal issue today, I'll swing by you and take a look

It's parked at my girlfriend's and I'm in a workshop all day at work. Earliest I can be out of work is 5pm. I have the tow to the dealership scheduled for between 5-6:30

Yup, have the dealership work on it.. hopefully they wont charge you an arm and a leg.

Still under warranty :)

Hmm seems way too early to be dealing with CSC failures already Mark. Glad the dealership will get it taken care of.

I'd hope so.. I dont like the fact that the dealer can "black list" your car as "moddified"

I got that impression at the college park dealership when I had that serious issue with my o2 sensor.

They can only "black list" you if the cause of the failure can be directly related to one of the modifications. Nothing I've done affects the clutch/transmission.

Man, I just dont trust em.. they're in the business to make money. Just like as a consumer, we're in the business to save money.. good luck.

dmhenderson 04-09-2013 07:57 AM

They've been good to me so far. We'll see I guess.

eastwest2300 04-09-2013 08:01 AM

Keep us posted, im sure you will.

Sounds like fluid or csc. Has the dealership said anything yet? If they want to charge you it would be a good time to just go and buy a heavy duty csc.
