Just got home. That was hilarious.

dmhenderson 04-20-2013 05:26 PM

I didn't take many pictures:

After we got to Harpers.

I found this in one of the stores in town. My god, all these years and I've never known I need to lubricate my engine. It even cushions moving parts!

dmhenderson 04-20-2013 05:48 PM

Anxious to see the other pictures/video. Especially the ones taken at the nearly flooded kinda scary bridge we crossed.

I really wish I had my GoPro mounted for that. It was terrifying and fun as hell at the same time. Really gave her a workout today.

Thanks for setting the ride up Randy! Great route and beautiful day! Virginia does have some beautiful countryside. I enjoyed the spirited nature of the drive as well.

Looking forward to the next one.

Dee, could you please meet me on Rt. 7 near Leesburg with a gallon of gas? :icon17:

Did you really run out? I used more gas today during that drive than I did from Wed-today when I filled up.

Also, on the way home we took the scenic route and ended up in "Brunswick MD" (not New Brunswick) that looked like it has been stuck in a timewarp for the past 50 years and has some REALLY weird street layouts.

No, just kidding around with Dee. When you spend that much time at 3/4+ throttle, they get thirsty. I think I used a little over 1/4 tank. Well worth it!

Yea, that area seems stuck back in time.

I've been feverishly searching for that horrible harpers ferry song ever since I got home. No luck yet. This was the first google result o_O

Harpers Ferry (Original song) - YouTube

They didn't play it on the bus ride home.

I tried to Shazam it on the way back with no results either! Let's keep researching so we have some of that great motivational music to play on our walkman's that we have strapped to our leg during the next cruiZe! (Iron Eagle reference)

m4a1mustang 04-20-2013 10:29 PM

Looks like a fun time. Sorry I missed it. I picked the s2k up this afternoon, though, so I'll be able to cruise to Summitt for karting!

also Benita - great to meet you... you survived!

Benita and she doesn't do the internet thing much.

dmhenderson 04-20-2013 10:43 PM

Also note the creepy camaro stalker guy who showed up while we were parked there in the background. He rolled in, didn't say a word to us and smoked a cigarette in his car, then abruptly turned around peeled out and went back the way he came.

dmhenderson 04-20-2013 10:47 PM

Fun things we learned today:
Harpers Ferry has a theme song and it's fairly awful. Chris and I think it should be the soundtrack to the chase video.

Bus driver was the unimbomber or a close relative.

Harpers ferry has really shitty food. I ordered a turkey/bacon/swiss sandwich and literally received grilled lunch meat on a bun.

Crumbling, nearly underwater river bridges are kinda terrifying.

Chris likes his beef sticks.

Randy inexplicably puts pies in his car while driving like a maniac.

Only two of us had manual transmissions. So yeah that was fun.

Last but not least, NO MOTHERF*CKING SUBSTITUTIONS

dmhenderson 04-20-2013 10:51 PM

Fun quotes from my girlfriend:

/Randy drops the hammer and I follow suit
Her: "Oh God, we're going to die"
Me: "Nah, we'll probably just be horribly maimed."

"I want my dog. This is terrible"

"I want to go skydiving and this is scarier than that"

Her: "WHAT IF THERE ARE ANIMALS"
Me: "They probably won't see us coming until it's much too late"

"OH GOD YOU ALL DRIVE LIKE THIS WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU"

"My arm hurts from grabbing the door"

"Stop randomly saying RACECAR. SHUT UP"

m4a1mustang 04-20-2013 10:53 PM

Lololol random outbursts of "RACECAR!!!"

dmhenderson 04-20-2013 10:53 PM

More like I was muttering it under my breath now and then. Like that family guy episode where Peter keeps saying "roadhouse"
