That's where you've got me. I haven't decided if front speakers are worth the cost/labor when I plan to gut the car later on.

Headlights will prolly have to wait for a while as I can't afford to purchase a set AND have them painted prior to selling my stock ones.

I wonder if since we're being judged, do we need to have some sort of placard or display that has all of our mods or no?

MyKindaGuise 02-18-2013 10:43 PM

DM you gotttaaaaaaaa do that. That'd be hilarious. Hairflow>airflow. Honestly you could run CAintakes and mount a fake intercooler and look somewhat TT.

Also Chris has a **** ton done. I'll make twice the power of a stock Z but my visual mods are not there, I'm only lowered, tinted, shift knobbed(thanks DM), custom painted wheels and headlights. The rest is stock so honestly a lot of you still hold a good chance. I only hope I can get my car done by then. Got 2.5months.

For shows it really helps yes.

You're going for brute power, which depending on what we're being judged on, you'll have a huge advantage over us. Yours will have a sleeper look to it.

Ah, hmm... Better get started on that then... Does it need to be just a printout, or some big show stopping bilboard? :icon17:

(I've never done a judged show before, so this is all new to me)

You can buy the kit for $150 and I can install it for free if that helps.

Yes, you want a show board if you want to stand out.

I'm going to have mine done by 180* Customs when the time comes...

Any :pics: of these to get an idea of what we're talking about here?

Are you going to make one?

Oh I was just being dumb. The car is NA (for now). If the FI product looks reliable, I may spring for it in a bit but that will require some major reworking and another tune.

I can still make the car chirp tires in 3rd gear and that may well be enough for me.

:iagree: I love the F.I. kit, but at the same time if Boosted Performance can make his kit work for a 7AT, it's awfully tempting as well. I'm crossing my fingers he can, but I know Tony and he will not put something on the market without it being 110% perfect. So he's always got my vote.

www.showboards.com - America's #1 Custom Car Show Board Site! Over 45,000 Sold! The Original and Still The Best!

My girlfriend is in advertising and I bought her a stupid-expensive camera for Christmas (which may or may not be a coincidence) so she'll be making mine.

Also I meant your speakers, not your headlights. No f'ing way I'll ever touch another pair of Z headlights again. I can replace your stock speakers and tweeters in an hour or so though.

dmhenderson 02-18-2013 10:55 PM

*If you have the Bose package I'm not touching it.

Also, Daedalus does the same job if not better for half the money and they're local if you're looking to get your lights done.

I don't suppose she would be interested in shooting mine as well as I do Not have stupid-expensive camera, or huge nerd roommate who has one anymore...

I'll look up that site now... Hmmm...

OH Ok. Yeah, I would be getting a set of Kickers, but not sure which tier to go with as the audiophile in me wants the best available or top tier. But if I'm just going to eventually rip them out, there's no point... so go for something lower/cheaper... I just don't know if at that point it's really worth it.
