Nice job, you should try this Home :: Accessories-Equipment :: Masking Tape & Dots :: 3" X 72 YDS 2 MIL GREEN POLYESTER TAPE - 400F it's clear with a green tint. Mike the powder coater uses it for his work and used it on his wife's Z4 when he tracked it. Leaves no glue or residue, is your dad coming again this year?

Yep, he's coming! We're both headed out tomorrow

KaienZ34 05-12-2013 08:23 PM

Look forward to seeing you both again.

Dr. Colorchip to the rescue!

I have to say that the accent color of the tape on the headlights was a nice touch! I'll give you some credit for remembering to do the hood separately so you could check the oil! I've seen people at the track who have forgotten and cut it open only to have it get very loose and start to peel on them.

Have a safe drive!

Doesn't help when you fail to tape up the most important parts :stirthepot:

That's why it's "Clear Bra Baby!!!".

The only damage suffered going to ZdayZ last year was an idiot in WV driving a dump truck full of gravel/rocks. I was weaving like a person being shot at, but before I could gat past him, a rock hit the windshield. Luckily, the angle of the window deflected most of the impact, so it ended up being just a little scratch. To prevent this from happening this year, I may use painters tape on the windshield. Since I haven't done it before, does anyone have any tips???? Oh wait a minute, I don't know what I was thinking. What happens if I need to use the windshield wipers? Maybe I better rethink this :inoutroflpuke:!

Hope everyone has a safe trip to Fontana. We're leaving tomorrow after work so we won't be rolling into Fontana until Wednesday AM.

What I do is leave the tape on the windshield until it rains. Everyone knows that rain knocks all the bugs and rocks out of the air! So using your wipers should'nt be an issue if you take my advice. :inoutroflpuke:

See, this is one of the many reasons that I love this forum. There is ALWAYS someone who knows the answer to a given question . I will take your advice and thanks for the insight . Honestly, I never even knew about the rain knocking down the bugs and rocks from the air...geez, now I feel so stupid :crying: .

I wonder how plastidip would work for a temporary bra since it peels right off?

Try some plasti dip and see if it works.

this stuff seems pretty legit from what i've read. amazon would take 2 weeks to get it i may call autozone on my way home.

KaienZ34 05-13-2013 02:08 PM

Autozone should have it.

yea them and amazon are the 2 places you can get it. in stock is a different question lol i just remembered there is one like a 1/2 mile from my work on my way home. i just wish i could find some more reviews. only one i found was on a BMW forum. only negative in the guys write up was dry/set time is like 2-4 hours. so he did it late and let it sit overnight.

if anyone can find me some other positive reviews then i'll probably go on and be the test dummy for the Z community lol

KaienZ34 05-13-2013 02:14 PM

Worst case just do your fangs black plasti and see how it holds up for the ride.
