Taking a look at the final exam schedule for my school, they will be the week prior to this. So I should be able to attend this year, as for not having ever been before, I'm not too keen on where the best lodging is for myself, so if someone has an extra room or would like to share a cabin or something, I'd really like to attend this year.

:excited:

I might have some space. I got mine for Thursday to Sunday but I never got a confirmation email from them yet so ill probably call tomorrow after I get out of the woods from hunting.

When I called I got a 2 bedroom hickory and she never told me my cabin number but I think they are closer to the front where I was informed is where the action is. As it stands now my sister might roll down with me but I think her finals are that week. And since she told me that my one friend might come now. I don't know the exact layout of these cabins to know how many people I could actually fit in them lol

I'm not bringing mine this year. We are taking the ST down and I might just bring the S2K as well if she is willing to make the drive by herself. If she doesnt I probably won't take the S2k since it's a bit small for a weeks worth of luggage for two... unless I get a trunk rack for it.

Mr&Mrs 11-25-2012 12:23 PM

Make sure they got the correct email, the lady wrote mine down wrong. I had to call and get it fixed.

I am a confused bunny here, on many levels, but I'm happy as long as you guys are down there, regardless of vehicle. Wouldn't be zdayz without my Steve and Dana time.

Is Fontana already fulled booked? I should probably look into getting a lodge room just in case I can make it next year. Who knows what car I'll have then...

m4a1mustang 11-26-2012 07:45 AM

I think there are still some rooms and maybe a couple cabins available. Definitely book a lodge room just in case.

Mr&Mrs 11-26-2012 08:34 AM

Hope you can make it Ryan!

The cabin # is not in stone, you might get another cabin the day you sign-in because that one might be down for maintenance or some other reason. It has happened before to a couple of my friends, but they will give you one with the same amount of bedrooms.

Can anyone confirm if Verizon Wireless is covered in the Village? It says it is on their web site, but if I zoom in they are not in the shaded areas (could be outdated Verizon map).

The reason I ask is because im thining of getting a Verizon prepaid just for the trip because our phones will not work in the Village, and our 1 BDRM cabin does not have a phone.

From my research nothing works LOL! The lodge has WiFi so you could make WiFi calls, but I read that it gets crowded. My wife noticed the note about Verizon on their site. Im worried for her not having anything to do (facebook) and never wanting to go back again. She said shes ready for it, but we both were complaining the other day when the power went out for two hours :rofl2:

m4a1mustang 11-26-2012 12:36 PM

If you are there with MAZOC we all use a radio channel to communicate. Most of the groups do this.

Mr&Mrs 11-26-2012 12:39 PM

I have no problem being off the grid, my wife on the other hand is not used to it. Anyway I like the radio idea, I will bring some with us.

Radios are a must. I can't remember if my AT&T iphone had service or not. I want to say it did because we used it as a GPS For the Poker Run last time...but I can't remember if the service stopped once we were in Fontana Village.

XwChriswX 11-26-2012 09:51 PM

Steevie, will it matter what model/type/brand of radio you get? Do they all have the same channels/freqs programmed, or will I need a certain one to sync up with the group?
