Washingto DC groups

Hello everyone,
I was wanting to touch base with other Z owners here in the DC Metro area and see if there was any interest in getting together for a sunday fun day cruise around.
I know there is the saturday meet and greets but work Saturdays and unfortunately can not make any of those meets. The wife and I usually do a sunday cruise in the Z to different locals and stop at different sports bar locations to catch the games or other events. Today we passed an exotic car club cruising around including two Lamborghini, two bmw's and some porches and i would love to get up with some other Z owners to do some cruising with.
If anyone might be interested we would love to get together. Hope to hear from some of you.
Peace!!!

DCNISMO 10-21-2012 04:51 PM

I'm up for that but I would rather drive then sit at a sports bar. I might be in for next sunday. I have a great route in and around gettysburgh.

RandyD 10-21-2012 05:08 PM

i am often up for cruizes :)

my favorite areas are the blueridge on the other side of Leesburg - anywhere around Hume, and all around Marshall and Middleburg.

I also like some Maryland routes, but mostly stay westward between Frederick and Charlestown

silver streak 10-21-2012 06:07 PM

That sounds great we drove from front royal va through Maryland into wv past Berkeley springs into pa past Gettysburg back into leesburg was a great day of cruising and the fall views were pretty cool.
Next weekend works for us as well we will keep watching post and lool forward to setting something up.

I don't go regardless :icon17:

The cruise I went on with Randy was amazing. The Bluemont Vineyard cruise I believe. If it works with my schedule I'd be down for another one like that. While it's still warm enough for summer tires, anyways.

I already had one made for you - but haven't been able to give it to you since you never showed... :(

RandyD 10-22-2012 08:25 AM

I'm up for a cruize this Sunday the 28th.

i'm happy to help with a route, but i'm a little gunshy of leading the pace after last time.

Then don't drive too fast :bowrofl: :bowrofl: we should figure a way to communicate while on the cruise so no one gets sideway

He'd probably just use it to clean his multiple sets of wheels anyway. :icon17:

The answer is radios. If everyone has a walky-talky on the same channel, the drivers can communicate.

We have plenty of those in this group. I've got four if you guys need to borrow them for any cruise.

The pace you set on our vineyard cruise was great. :)

shadoquad 10-22-2012 10:42 AM

imo, people should learn the routes before they show up, so that keeping pace is less important. If you figure out where you're going and pay attention to the route, then you can always catch up at the next check point.

But that entails people making efforts instead of just showing up to follow, so it's not likely to occur.

silver streak 10-22-2012 11:37 AM

Thanks Shado for the links that gives alot of info and Randy has all the experiences based on those vids. and route details to lead the way lol I am all for the 28th.
The walkie talkies are a great Idea as well, but agree if we all know the route should be ok especially if you have a lead and a tail that can communicate in case anone drops back to far.

Cristobal09 10-22-2012 11:39 AM

What you need are a "slower" group and a "faster" group imo.

Last time I was in a cruise I was holding everybody back because im a pretty slow driver, hence why I dont do cruises anymore.

I drive like a snail because even if there were 50 drivers in a group, the cop would pick my a$$ out from the group.

This coming from the man who gets pulled over for going 1mph over the speed limit, then again a few months later for going 3 over the limit with a friend.:shakes head:

Yeah, its just when you get people going fast on these side roads, and some of them never driven the roads beforehand and not knowing the hazards, things can go bad really quick. (see the last cruise)

But everybody has their definition of "slow", and my definition of slow is going 5-10mph over the speed limit tops. Im a grandma, I like to enjoy the scenery when im cruising.

GTLAW 10-24-2012 02:19 PM

I like to go, but I like to know how many are going? what kind of driving is there going to be? are doing back roads or high speed runs.
