Now all you gotta do is get your tail lights blacked out, you'll be all set.

dmhenderson 11-01-2012 04:19 PM

Think that's super illegal in MD but I dunno for sure.

I think it's illegal in most places.

eastwest2300 11-01-2012 04:26 PM

I've never been pulled over for it.

That doesn't make it legal :roflpuke2:

Just because you've never been arrested for prostitution...

:iagree:

I think it will really complete the look of the car. Get them painted for a cleaner look. As long as you don't go too dark you should be ok. With the LED's in our brake/tail lights they are as bright if not brighter than most cars even after being blacked out. You've seen how my tail lights look so that should give you some idea of how they will turn out. I've had them like that since February of 2011 and haven't had any problems because of it.

:iagree::iagree:My point exactly!

shadoquad 11-01-2012 04:41 PM

I didn't say whether or not it would be a good aesthetic choice, or whether or not you'd be pulled over for it. I was only making the point that it is, technically, illegal. You can't pass inspection with it.

It would look great on his Z, though.

eastwest2300 11-01-2012 04:43 PM

His car has already been inspected though, he wouldnt need to worry about passing inspection again.

dmhenderson 11-01-2012 04:51 PM

Well Daedalus is fixing my headlights and installing halos shortly. Maybe I'll ask them about the tail lights while I'm at it.

Ever?

Look, he said he thinks it's illegal, I confirmed. I'm not here to argue the technicalities. fook.

Illegal or not, he wants a show car, and just like blades said, the car is all blacked out EXCEPT the tail lights, so odds are.. HE'S GONNA HAVE IT DONE. fook.. lol:bowrofl:

dmhenderson 11-01-2012 06:27 PM

Yeah just add it to the never ending list

Mike 11-01-2012 06:47 PM

eastwest2300 11-01-2012 08:20 PM

I've never seen or heard of anyone getting pulled over for that mad.. i dont know though. Im not sure what the MD, VA or DC statutes are on it.

It might not get you pulled by itself, but an anal retentive cop might ticket you for it in addition to why they pull you over. I dunno. Pretty sure it's ticketable.

But whatever.

shadoquad 11-01-2012 08:29 PM

Take it fwiw

Yeah it might be illegal or whatever, but people do it, and Mark will eventually do it. So it is what it is.

Not "might be". "is".

Let him do whatever he wants. It's a cheap ticket anyway. It's like the guys who drive around with no front plate or test pipes. It's the risk one runs for a mod.

Not 100% on test pipes. It's an emissions violation in some states to take perfectly good cats off a car, especially if not replaced with other cats.

Mike 11-01-2012 08:50 PM

Its very illegal, but its a federal law, not state in most places.

:iagree:

Ask Dan about that. That's the reason he had to get rid of his s2k.

2theextreme 11-02-2012 07:49 AM

Talk to ZCarMan about it. I believe he had to pay a little extra to get his car registered and plated in MD because of it. Here is how is taillights are....still today:
