haha yeah yeah yeah... ANYWAYS... its looking like we may be doing a Spring install mod at my place, with food & beer, ONLY 2 cars will be worked on.. mine & Tonybui. Details have yet to be finalized.

GTLAW 10-23-2012 09:01 AM

I have been going to D&V for almost 5 years now! They do Great work!.. You can't go wrong.

dmhenderson 10-23-2012 09:21 AM

Yeah I'm having them seal up my emblems while they have the car up on blocks.
Kevin is great.

eastwest2300 10-23-2012 10:08 AM

Mark, when are you gonna be in my neck of the woods so I can see all these upgrades?

BlackZ85 10-23-2012 01:10 PM

Yeah, the knob looks good but it sit too high

dmhenderson 10-23-2012 04:40 PM

Next week. D&V has it right now.

Just got off the phone with Len at Figure Finishing regarding my wheels. They have to special order the lazer crystal powder from Oregon and it'll be here Fri.

They're going to do all 4 wheels in lazer crystal, the nismo inlays in hand-painted red/white enamel (with hardener) and then finish the whole thing off with a satin clear coat.

The car should be ready Mon/Tues at the latest.

I have to talk to the guys at Daedalus when they get back from vacation regarding the headlights.

dmhenderson 10-23-2012 04:44 PM

Really stoked about the wheels. They're gonna be sick.

b1adesofcha0s 10-23-2012 07:41 PM

Where is this place you're getting the wheels done? I thought you were gonna send them to Mike the powdercoater.

dmhenderson 10-23-2012 08:02 PM

D&V has a shop and I got to check their work (they were hauling in some lambo wheels while I was getting my lights done). This saves me the fairly huge expense of shipping my wheels and being without a car. D&V is storing the car plus is took care of removing the tires plus mounting/rebalancing afterwards. Just way more convenient.

I wanted to use Mike and if I lived anywhere near Georgia, I would have. Shipping calipers around is one thing, shipping your wheels off is another animal entirely.

b1adesofcha0s 10-23-2012 08:44 PM

Yup makes sense. Can't wait to see how they turn out

dmhenderson 10-24-2012 02:50 PM

So here's the shop's website that's doing my wheels:

Client Photos – Figure Finishing

Check out the crazy GT-40. This guy does some really crazy things with powder. Pretty cool.

Oh and with the enamel inlays and additional clearcoat the price ended up being significantly more than what Mike would have done it for so if you can live without your wheels, Mike is still the best bang for your buck out there.

D&V is going to call the powder shop tomorrow and "work on the price" a bit. Seriously, I'm really in love with D&V.

shadoquad 10-24-2012 02:55 PM

That Ford GT is sick, sick, sick

dmhenderson 10-24-2012 03:00 PM

lol. I wonder how much this cost:

shadoquad 10-24-2012 03:01 PM

lol too much

dmhenderson 10-24-2012 03:02 PM

The level of detail is retarded considering that's all powder:

""Black Jack" base with "Astatic Red" and "Bright White." High gloss clear powder top coat. Liquid blue base/clear center caps. Plastic bolt heads were discarded, and the holes were drilled/tapped and received real chrome 12-point bolts."

Oh, the work is fantastic. I'm just not sure I'd want these Texas Flag Rims on anything. :icon17: But if it makes the owner happy, then great.

That's exactly why I bought them.

Weathertech® Floor Mats Floorliner Nissan 370Z 2010 2011 Black | eBay

Those weathertech badges peel right off (no heat needed). I relocated them to the top/center of each mat.

I then bought these:

2 x nismo Motorsport Car Badge Sticker Emblem s13 14 GTR R34 350Z Pulsar Skyline | eBay

...and put them where the weathertech badges were. Wish they were a little bigger but whatever.

dmhenderson 10-24-2012 03:21 PM

Weathertech also sells actual rubber mats but they aren't that interesting.

Kevin at D&V said they're going to take lots of pics of the wheels/install once they come back. Wouldn't be surprised if they end up on D&Vs site

Yup, thats probably gonna happen.

dmhenderson 10-31-2012 12:00 PM

Wheels are almost done. Apparently a fly landed in one of the enamel inlays before it could be baked so they had to re-do one wheel.

Wheels will be delivered back to D&V by 9am tomorrow.

I keep begging for pictures. The guy at figure finishing says they "look killer" but no photos yet. I'm like a 8 year old on Christmas morning.

Dude Len is the sh*t when it comes to powdercoating in the DMV area. I've had parts coated by him in metallic gloss black and the finish on them is flawless. Really nice guy who takes pride in his work. The multiple Vipers and the Ford GT I've seen in person at local car meets and pictures just don't do his work justice.

You'll be blown away once you get them this week!

dmhenderson 10-31-2012 04:52 PM

I bought a black metallic flake powder he didn't have from Prismatic Powders (recommended by Mike) and had it shipped to him. The enamels he had in his shop.

eastwest2300 10-31-2012 06:18 PM

Man, these wheels better be the sh1t, all this hype...I guess we'll soon find out.

They're actually black but the metallic flake is reflective and he has them in direct sunlight in the pictures. Ownage.

Looking good!!! :tiphat:

dmhenderson 11-01-2012 09:54 AM

Yeah I'm really pleased. Pictures don't really do them justice.

dmhenderson 11-01-2012 10:02 AM

Kevin said he's going to do the center caps in a satin black and mount/balance the wheels this afternon and take some pictures.

eastwest2300 11-01-2012 02:27 PM

Yup, they look pretty cool.

dmhenderson 11-01-2012 02:34 PM

Pictures of the finished product here in a sec. Kevin said he was emailing them to me. He has the center caps done, tires re-mounted/balanced and just finished putting them back onto the car.
