Looking for a loaner set of wheels for a week

Don't care what sort, I'll be responsible for any damage/nicks etc and am fine with pre/post inspection.

Only going to need them for a week or so while mine are shipped off to be powdered. I will put less than 50 miles on them and will not drive them on the highway. I have NISMO wheels so I need 19" but assuming that happens, I can provide my own tires.

Would rather not pay a "fee" but if you want a rental fee and push comes to shove, I can swing that too.

Anyone want to help a guy out?

shadoquad 09-18-2012 10:26 AM

You can fit 18's over your big brakes, if that's why you're concerned about only wanting 19's.

What dates do you need the wheels for?

dmhenderson 09-18-2012 10:32 AM

More concerned with the tires than the brakes. Dates are flexible. Any time betweeen now and say...March. So basically whatever works for you.

blackcherry20 09-18-2012 10:51 AM

what?! No cubes available in MD?! you crash them too?! :bowrofl: :p

:hello: DM!!

dmhenderson 09-18-2012 10:59 AM

I mean I could just rent a car but I'm uneasy leaving the car sitting on jackstands the whole time. I'd rather just borrow a set of wheels and not drive much.

:iagree: just had to poke you a bit! I agree-I wouldnt want mine sitting that way either...I wonder, can you rent wheels? you can rent just about everything anymore....check your local junkyard...may be you cold pick up an entire set for really cheap and then you would have them all the time. :tiphat:

dmhenderson 09-18-2012 11:03 AM

Yeah I mean there are other options but my first choice would be to just borrow a set from someone here for a week or so. ~2 days shipping to Mike, 2 days for the powder/bake process, 2 days returned to me.

:D ok- just a thought. good luck...I assume you will post up some cool pics once they are completed?!

dmhenderson 09-18-2012 11:18 AM

Oh yes, these are going to be ridiculous wheels.

b1adesofcha0s 09-18-2012 01:49 PM

What color are you getting the wheels powdercoated? Is the Nismo your only car? If so, you may just want to look into getting a separate set of winter wheels and tires and you can put those on while getting yours powdercoated.

dmhenderson 09-18-2012 03:17 PM

It'll be garaged during the winter. I'm not insane.

The wheels will be "lazer crystal metallic black flake" with the nismo logo embossed in white / "O" in red. It's gonna be ridiculous

I mean you guys have met me. Worst case scenario if you don't feel like being charitable is that you loan me a set of wheels for a week and get paid for doing nothing.

I would if I had an extra set, but unfortunately I don't. However there is this guy I know who has 2 full sets of extra wheels just sitting in his house :ugh2:

Your wheels are going to be super cool. Does the powder coat guy fix any nicks and curb rash?

I would assume so although I don't know for sure. You could ask him - he's on the forums as "Mike" and will go out of his way to make sure you're happy.

yes, most curb rash can be fixed.

dmhenderson 09-18-2012 09:49 PM

UGH. Can't believe no one will loan me a set. I'm gonna have to email the girl that bought my last Z

Someone hook me up so I can get this done please aaaaaaaaaaaaaa

dmhenderson 09-18-2012 09:52 PM

(once again, I will pay you if necessary)

*Will also hand-polish your rims prior to return.

Just give it some time dude, it hasn't even been a whole day since you posted this. Another piece of advice I'd give you is to come out to some meets and meet some more people in person. Maybe they will be more comfortable with loaning you a set after getting to know you. A lot of people probably haven't even seen this thread.

dmhenderson 09-18-2012 10:00 PM

@Blades you're 100% right - I'm just anxious ;)

b1adesofcha0s 09-18-2012 10:52 PM

Besides, if it's gonna be garaged all winter anyway and you have another car, I don't see any problem leaving it up on jack stands for a week if it's not being driven anyway.

There used to be a shop near my house that did nothing but rent wheels. Rent'n'roll was the name of the place. Pretty sure they went out of business.

Last winter was extremely mild. We barely saw precip that froze.

We are meant to have a much heavier winter this year.

If you do drive during winter and are on stock rubber, drive safe and responsibly. The stock tires are summer rated and will slip easily in sub-40 temps.

:iagree: Especially if you have the appropriate tires on there.

I have my stock 18s sitting in my basement right now.

dmhenderson 09-20-2012 07:06 PM

Don't think my tires will fit your 18"s unfortunately - unless you already have tires on them.
