2012 GT-R Cruise

Looks like it's time again for the cruise with the GT-R crew. We had a couple of us go last year and it was pretty cool (except for the rain and that awful dirt road). Route has been pre driven this time and shouldn't be any issues.

2012 GT-R & Skyline Cruise & BBQ - September 29, 2012 - Mid-Atlantic - NAGTROC - The Nissan GT-R Owners Club

Quote:

It's time for one last event before getting the cars ready for winter. This year we owe a HUGE thank you to AAM Competition in Annapolis Junction, MD for sponsoring the event! We've also upped the ante with a route designed by a veteran Bull Runner.About 60 miles of scenic twist roads that will take about 1 hour and 30 to 1 hour and 45 minutes to run.

On September 29th we're meeting at 10AM at the same location as last year:
Baltimore Coffee and Tea
5209 Presidents Court Frederick, MD 21703

Please get there early enough to give the route directions a good once over. Lunch will be at 1PM at Manor Area Shelter on RT15. The Shelter itself has no address but it is directly across the highway from Enterprise Rent-A-Car at 12917 Catoctin Furnace Rd, Thurmont, MD 21788. Just as last year, there is no charge for lunch! We want you to have a good time with fellow owners. If you care to help with the cost of food please feel free to give a donation. This can be done inside or via paypal to jong@up-shift.net.

It is a GT-R and Skyline-centric event but all cars are welcome. This year some invitations are going out to a few luxury and exotics forums so expect some really impressive machinery! Thanks again to all that helped make last year such a huge success. We look forward to having a great time with everyone again this September 29th. Thanks again to you Luis for your contribution. Every bit helps and we enjoy being able to do this event for the owners and they've responded so well to it. It feels good to be able to do a second year. I hope we can work together again next year. See ya on the 29th!

I'm assuming we'd have to sit at the back of the bus for this one

birdmanx1 09-04-2012 08:42 PM

Hmmm interesting... I should be in the US then, COUNT ME IN. Granted there is no bad weather, I will be of attendance. I'll see if I can get the guys for pics

Nope, you just pretty much go where you end up in the line. Last year we went in multiple small groups instead of one big group. Keeping up with them isn't really an issue considering the limits of driving on the street.

RandyD 09-05-2012 07:03 AM

i might go. the route was very disappointing last year

Seems like this year's route has been planned by someone who knows what they're doing and has actually driven it before, so hopefully we won't have the same problems as last year

Weak....... too scared to hang with the big boys? :stirthepot:

b1adesofcha0s 09-07-2012 12:34 PM

I wonder how many people on the FB page are gonna see my profile pic and expect me to be bringing a Gallardo to this? :icon17:

I guess... but the nice cars and free food sounds very tempting.

Well the beginning of the meet is just like our weekly meets. Hang out in the parking lot talking and checking each others cars out. Then we cruise to the park where they will be doing the BBQ. I suppose you could drive straight from the meet up location to the park and then wait for everyone to get there, but that wouldn't be as fun.

The way I see it, you don't get these kind of opportunities too often. Take advantage of them while you can and I guarantee it will be worth it

If you're intimidated by driving with GT-R's, you shouldn't be. Those guys are pretty cool and like having us there. They don't mind us running with them and keeping up is not really an issue on public roads. Checking out parked GT-R's is pretty cool, but seeing them in action is 100x better.

eastwest2300 09-07-2012 12:43 PM

Its not that Im afraid to hang "with the big boys," I'd just much rather check out the cars and eat some good grub.. Thats just me..

That's what I'm saying though. The cruise is in between the checking out the cars and the food, so you might as well come with us. Otherwise, you could just go straight to the BBQ location and wait like an hour or two there by yourself for the rest of the people to get there after the cruise.

eastwest2300 09-07-2012 01:02 PM

Good deal.

Hi Shahid I would love to meet "Beratut", I heard he is one fine hunky dory guy. :icon17:

I fixed it on NAGTROC before you even noticed bro ;)

Yeah there's a bunch more people who said they're going on FB as well. Seems like it's gonna be much bigger than last year.

birdmanx1 09-26-2012 01:02 PM

Awesome bro, you and your mad ninja edit skills.

This cruise would be the official cruise for this year since we didn't have one. Looking forward to riding along you and Randy
