this is updated. My car is NOT getting worked on. I'm simply coming out to lend and hand and meet some of the 370z community! I've also updated that i'll be bringing beer and whatever else that we might need

Sales@AAMComp 08-10-2012 10:49 AM

we need tail gate chairs! lol there will be a lot of down time i'm sure

as far as tools we will also need:
flat head screw drivers, preferably 2+ that are long
oven mitts or mechanical gloves
blue painters tape

all of this has been edited to be reflected on post 7, i'll keep this updated as best as possible!

10mm socket, extension and ratchet.

Also, to give the meet-up some flair does something along the lines of "1st Annual Mid-Atlantic Tech Daze" sound a little better?

hahah might have to start asking for sponsors and models. charge an admission fee

edited list to reflect those tools

Sales@AAMComp 08-10-2012 11:30 AM

everyone please revise the "to bring" list, it's apparent that working on 8 cars will mean more than 1 set of tools.. lol

LOL was just throwing it out there. This reminds me of tech daze we used to do in Vegas with our motorcycles. We'd get some seasoned mechanics along with novices and teach hands on maintenance on their own rides and instill confidence. It's surprises me that there are still people that can't change their own oil and it could be due to lack of a mentor.

This gathering has the potential to become a standing traditon.

i agree with this whole statement. I always believed that being half the fun in being a car enthusiast was actually getting your hands dirty! these install meets are always fun but what i've noticed in the last few years is that these install meets = 2-3 people working on the cars, the other 10+ people sit on their butts, eat, drink lol

b1adesofcha0s 08-10-2012 11:50 AM

I'll be there around 10 AM :icon17:

falconfixer 08-10-2012 11:53 AM

One of the reasons I don't do the hand's on portion (at an install meet) is no one learns by letting someone else do it.

The other aspect is, it's your ride I'm not breaking your shyt:rofl2:

btw Khoi you've done this before. Would it be be a good idea to have isopropyl alchohol, preferable in a spray bottle, with some cheese cloth/rags so the inside of the lenses are clean right before spraying them? Newspaper to lay the lights on?

I can answer this for Khoi, YES!! Alcohol removes fingerprints, grease and dirt.. I have some, but not a lot.

Good job fellas getting everything organized! I do have the tools to do this install but not 8 sets of tools, soo everyone should bring the following:

A butter knife (to pry the head lights open)
Rubbing Alcohol
Flat head screw driver
10mm socket and ratchet

We will need painters tape, I'd say 2 to 3 rolls of it, and newspaper to cover parts and pieces so theres no overspray.

A heat gun, someone PLEASE bring a Heat gun!!!
