That's fine, whatever you're comfortable with. You can watch, but you won't be able to get a ride along since my instructor will be in the passenger seat. My cousin decided to come watch me last time and not take his car out. He definitely regretted it afterwards. IMO if you can spend the money and you're going all that way there anyway then you should at least get on the track for a little bit. It's gonna be a long azz drive for you from PA to Summit Point in WV just to watch me drive for 25 mins. 
You could come to hyperfest in May, which is kind of crowded, but there's lots more to do all day so you won't get bored.
