Who wants to drive a Lamborghini/F430/Aston Martin V8 around Summit Point for $99?

Well here's your chance. A waste of cash if you ask me, but I know SOMEONE out there is just dying to drive a car around a race track to get a taste for it. This might be your opportunity.

$99 - Drive a Lamborghini on a Racetrack, Reg. $259 | Travelzoo Local Deals

b1adesofcha0s 04-23-2012 01:48 PM

Oh I definitely have to get in on this :excited:

b1adesofcha0s 04-23-2012 01:51 PM

Purchasing 2 laps right now

sixpax 04-23-2012 02:03 PM

I'll drive my own car around it for about 15 laps for $50.00

b1adesofcha0s 04-23-2012 02:04 PM

And just bought 2 laps. Thanks for posting this Rob! Now to choose between the Gallardo and the F430........

b1adesofcha0s 04-23-2012 02:16 PM

They also have the Ferrari 458 available, but at a higher cost. This one's not part of this deal though.

Driving Experience, drive a Ferrari, drive a Lamborghini, drive a Porsche, drive — RacingBox

I don't think I'll be there the same day as you, so you're safe for now :roflpuke2:

if they offered the 458 for $99, i would have done it.

If they offered it for like $300 for a few laps I might have still done it, but it starts around $700. This is a nice graduation present for myself

MightyBobo 04-23-2012 03:51 PM

Friggen 1.12 mile track is a joke if you ask me. It'd last a minute or so. *twirls fingers above head*

I'd probably go with whichever car is a stick - which, knowing this ****, they are probably all flappy paddles.

b1adesofcha0s 04-23-2012 03:57 PM

Well it's cheaper than buying an actual Lambo/Ferrari so I'll take it for now. Given my limited experience with driving a stick, this should be fun :icon17:

m4a1mustang 04-23-2012 04:05 PM

Neat but I agree with Rob. Waste of money. It'd be a better value to pay $800 for the day to rent one. At least then you get 100 miles.

b1adesofcha0s 04-23-2012 04:10 PM

Ah well it's too late now I already bought it. Besides, it's much easier for me to throw down $100-200 on this right now than to blow $800 on it for a day + the speeding/reckless driving tickets I would get from driving it on the streets :icon17:

b1adesofcha0s 04-23-2012 04:14 PM

I'm gonna do this on May 19th if I can. The Saturday after finals are over and the day before graduation. Can't think of a better way to end my undergraduate career than driving a Lambo/Ferrari around a race track, even if it is only for 2 laps. You also get a 2 lap ride around the track in a Cayenne with an instructor driving. Not much, but hey it's something :p

You got a GoPro to use?

Nope. It's on my list of stuff to eventually get :p

My sister wants to come with me to watch so she can probably make a video from the outside. Maybe I can borrow someone's GoPro to use for the car? I should probably contact them to see if we're even allowed to do so.

I have a GoPro, but its non-HD. You're welcome to use it none-the-less, though.

And I certainly don't see why it wouldnt be allowed.

Cristobal09 04-23-2012 05:01 PM

Different strokes for different folks. But like everybody else except Shahid, its a complete waste of money to me. Like steve said, much better deal to spend 800 and rent one for an entire day.

I hope its worth it though for you Shahid.

I hope so too

ZCarMan 04-23-2012 06:00 PM

Shahid, go have a blast!

lazywolfe 04-25-2012 01:02 PM

I'm figuring out how many laps to buy. I don't think see how it's a complete waste of money, but *shrug*.

4r3s 04-25-2012 01:34 PM

Its only a complete waste of money if you just bought a house and/or you have a ton of debt already. Shahid you're going to have a blast!

lazywolfe 04-25-2012 01:53 PM

Just bought some laps. Maybe we can make a mini meet out of this? Did you definitely sign up for the 19th Shahid?

Hope so guys! I've decided to pick the Lamborghini LP-560 as my exotic of choice. Should be fun. I've thought about actually buying that as my next car in a couple years, but buying a house probably kills that plan. At least I can enjoy it now

I think its a waste of money in the bang-for-the-buck perspective, is all. You can pay $99 to drive a car for a whole 2 minutes or so maybe, or $350 to drive your own car for almost 2 hours and actually learn something :-p lol

b1adesofcha0s 04-25-2012 04:50 PM

I think it's more about getting the experience to drive an exotic rather than trying to learn anything. Also another bonus is that it's not your own car that you're driving around the track.

Yeah I know - I suppose the allure of driving an exotic never really did it for me in the end. They're cool, but owning one and actually tracking it would require deep pockets I don't have, so I've accepted I wont ever bother lol

Exactly why I'm doing it now for like $150 even if it is just for 2 laps. I know for sure that whatever car I get next, I will be tracking it. Will most likely be a GT-R so it should be fun.

Honestly? I'd seriously recommend something cheaper. Its easier to learn to drive fast, in a slower car. You can get some crapbox Miata which all the parts will cost you jack diddly (ESPECIALLY tires), and not be afraid of putting it into a wall....much :-p

Seriously, just get one for 1 or 2 seasons, and it'll be a lot easier on you. My buddy's shitty integra can go 2 years on a set of tires, which cost him a whole 350-400 for a FULL SET lol. Thats like, ONE TIRE for us! :(. The GT-R would hurt even more...

Gonna use the Z for that. Don't think I will be hardcore tracking the GT-R. Will start off slow and then slowly move up. Hoping I can learn enough in the Z so that I will be ok later on.

The Z would suffice just dandy. Thought you were ditching the Z and getting another car (a GT-R) and nothing else to go with it.

And yes, the Z is still a good starter car. A little more power than SOME would recommend, but I think its fine.

Yeah will have the Z for probably another 2 years or so, which I hope will get me ready for a GT-R on the track. Will definitely pick up some beater DD to go with it though. Don't want to be driving the GT-R as much as I drive my Z. I will be selling the Z to get the GT-R if that's what you meant.

This thing is pissing me off! So I got a voucher for this from TravelZoo, but every time I try to book it on their website it says it is invalid. Tried contacting this place, but they never pick up there phone and haven't replied to my e-mails. It's too late to even get a refund from TravelZoo!

Anyone else buy this and successfully book it?

Report the incident to your credit card company, that should get their attention.

I'm gonna give TravelZoo a couple days to see if they can deal with it since I just contacted them this morning. If they don't do anything then I won't have any other choice.

b1adesofcha0s 05-10-2012 03:27 PM

Looks like TravelZoo has contacted Racing Box about the issue and hopefully it gets resolved soon.
