SCPA Cars and Coffee(?)

:confused:So somebody took their ball and went home with a meet on the table at the Capital City mall this Sunday. Just wondering if anyone is still going to show up.

XwChriswX 04-09-2012 09:07 PM

As long as I get my car's paper work done this week, I will be there. Plus I'll be making a new SCPA thread here tomorrow, just too late to get all the info today, so I'll do it in the morning. :icon17:

Yeah, that's my area! Is something going on there, or are you just picking up a few things?

Just picking up some things. Those outlets rock! much better than the ones we have here in Hershey.

XwChriswX 04-10-2012 09:12 PM

You still wanna meet up this weekend Gixxer?

MyKindaGuise 04-10-2012 10:32 PM

My only thing is saturday night is party night so as long as things arent nuts I can do sunday morning probably...Saturday morning for sure though.

yellogixxer 04-11-2012 05:25 AM

I'm up for this weekend. The only thing I have to do is seal the driveway at some point, so I'm wide open.

Chris, you get your reg squared away?

XwChriswX 04-11-2012 09:07 AM

I finally got my registration, but when I went by the inspection place yesterday (before they closed) the ONE guy who issues stickers wasnt there so I couldn't get one. On the way home I got pulled over because I didn't have a sticker. I didn't get a 'ticket' persay but he wrote me a card that the sticker guy now has to fill out and I have to send in.

Dick. :shakes head:

yellogixxer 04-11-2012 10:06 AM

Funny, I have to go to court in about 10 minutes for that exact same thing. I got a ticket for expired inspection when I was driving to the dealer to trade for my Z. He said if I go to court with a bill of sale, he'll make the ticket go away. Here's hoping!

Yeah man, cops here are douches. :ugh2: Down south, we wouldn't have that problem.

NEVER go to lower paxton township they are the worst most gung-ho cops in PA. They one time pulled me over in my 1994 Buick park avenue as I was on my way to trade it in(funny theme with us here). They pulled me over because they thought I had an illegal aftermarket exhaust and it was not hanging out past the end of my vehicle which was pa regulation. I showed him my 2 day old inspection tag and he left very upset. They are dicks
I will never drive in that township again once my windows are tinted..they make you peel it off.

 Good lord... This was in downtown hanover. I love the fact he was able to spot I didn't have a sticker when we passed each other going 35mph in opposite directions... :ugh2:

yellogixxer 04-11-2012 11:44 AM

That was the easiest 90 seconds in a court room I ever had. I have to say, I am bad about getting my car inspected. I've probably been nabbed 8 times over the years for inspection violations, and never had to pay one. Get it inspected and come back, or in this case show I trade the car, and the ticket goes away. Cop was actually pretty cool. 60 of the 90 seconds I was in the court room we talked about the new Z.

Italy, from the SCPA group here is an audio wizard. Best person to talk to honestly.

Also I have interior LEDS.
LEDGlow Lighting
Their products are more subtle then the pictures would lead you to believe.
I enjoy my 7 color 12" led strips

XwChriswX 03-24-2013 03:40 AM

I do all my own AV installs. I don't let anyone else mess with the electronics of my car, much less anything else. Lol

:icon18: yeah it would be dumb for a guy to want a master tec with 22 electronic certifications to work on his car...:bowrofl::stirthepot:..

If I had one living close by, perhaps... But same as he wouldn't want me working on his car. :tiphat:

I wasn't knocking your credentials btw, I was just merely offering my :twocents: that I try to do as much of the work on my car by myself. :tiphat:

well i do live close by. u r 30min from me max. and your right that he wouldnt want u working on his car being that you are not a certified tec..:tiphat:

everyone on here trys to do what they can by themselfs on their cars. cody was offering a sudjestion to him because he asked if anybody knew of anyone who could do it.. being that i have been a tec for 15 years and have worked on more cars than i can count, and have been in magazine, and done cars for the indianapolis colts, cody said for him to hit me up..

i get that u wanted to add ur opnion and boast a lil about how u do ur own work. but maybe next time try not to sound condisending about member offering another one their opnion. also maybe he wanted something a little more advanced than just a prefabed box sitting in the back of his car.. something with a little more fit and finish that someone with years and years of experiance can offer, rather than a basic install that could be done by almost anyone..;)

eastwest2300 03-25-2013 08:08 AM

Italy, I still want you to do my alarm on the s2000, and eventually the Z, I still gotta buy a couple peripherals.

Do you know where I live?:ugh2: I'm not advertising that I am a tech?:ugh2: I was just saying that there is always the DIY option if somone wanted to do something themselves... I wasn't attacking your credibility to which I think you might want to not take so personally... :ugh2:

Good for you, but I'm not asking for your resume, so that doesn't really apply here.

Practice what you preach. :tiphat:

i do know where u live.. remember you told all of us that u live in gettysburg. you told us that back when we went to the columbia meet..

again with the sarcasim.. i wasnt giving you my resume. u made a comment about how u dont let anyone touch ur car.. implying that i may not know what im doing or something like that. instead of sayin that paul has a good rep and has done many cars and does it for a living, but I (meaning you) prefer to work on my car myself...

i do practice what i preach. your comment implied that i was not worth contacting and that he should do it himself. so i spoke up. you have met me, you know how i am. i dont let comments like that slide.

if you wanna go back and forth on here im fine with that. you wanna keep up the sarcasim go for it.. we can argue on here all day about it. you have met me at the columbia meet, so it should be no suprise about the way i took it...

its hard to tell the tone of something when its being read on a forum. if u prefer i would be more than happy to come see you in person, or i can come to one of the upcoming meets. that way there would be no misteak in tone or taking something the wrong way, or taking something as sarcasim. everyone who knows me, or has met me knows i would enjoy a face to face convo about it...

Already wrong, I live Near, not in there.

No sarcasm again, just being honest, I don't really need to know what all you've done, I'm not the one asking. Nor was I again questioning your credentials... That's between you and him in PM's.

Right, I said I do not let anyone else touch MY car. <-- see that little guy there, the period. End of sentence, end of thought. Nothing more, nothing less. I made no hint/attempt to deny your ability to work on cars, or negate your status as a tech.

I don't know your rep, I don't know you work on audio installs (prior to this conversation) So how can I be for/against you working on someone elses car? Exactly. I wasn't. I was merely putting in that comment for face value alone. You're trying to make it into more than it was.

Ok, well if you did, you'd see that you're complaining about someone supposedly making derogatory comments about you, but then you immediately follow it up with a derogatory comment about them... So perhaps you might want to take another look at it.

Again, I never said anything against your abilities/expertise, and if you don't believe me, you might want to re-read it. :ugh2: So there was no comment to "let slide".

There was no sarcasm. And I have met you. And you were a pretty decent guy at that point. Which is why I have no reason to say anything against you, like I've now repeated a dozen times that I wasn't. :ugh2:

That's why there was no underlying tone associated with it. I simply put in my two cents. Instead of immediately feeling threatened by it, you could have simply asked me was it in reference to you, and I would have happily said no. But instead you're blowing it out of proportion.

Sure, come on down to the MD meets? Especially now that you have a Z again. But I don't really see what's going to be different face to face vs on here, there was nothing negative said either way.
