That is the infamous "rasp" commonly associated with the VQ platform and any kind of freer-flowing-than-stock-cats setup. You can get a hint of rasp with HFCs as well. You'll hear it in the cabin but outside the car it is nearly indiscernible. Nothing to worry about.

Cool...but why does it rasp. I thought that FI stated that their cbe and tp combo does not rasp at all.

Meh. You'll always get rasp from test pipes. It's well documented throughout this forum. You need HFCs if you want the rasp nearly gone. RTPs aren't enough.

The answer to your question as to "why." I'll let someone that knows that specific answer tell you but we all know they do it and that's typically enough.

Btw, RHFCs are the best for an NA car where you absolutely want zero rasp but still want the best flow along with the benefits of keeping your torque figures. TPs on this car result in a net loss of low end power. You need that back pressure for something!

I plan on force induction next year :)

So a dude here in the area did FI exhaust, LTH, intakes, ported upper and lower mani, ported TB and tune. Came up to 325ish at the wheels or something like that...

...for a grand total of right under 5k.

****, this car is expensive lol. At that point me thinks I'd rather save up for a FI TT setup.

On another note, I really like the new mustangs, which is something I thought I'd never say.

My Z's front bumper needs some help.

I'll give her the "special sauce" haha. But I'd be glad man, just let me know! Though I leave in the next few weeks, going on a business trip.

Ehh you're still looking at like 8-10k for turbo kit and tuning.

True, but the gains are exponentially larger.

All depends on what you want I suppose man.

Alright ladies. its warm. Quit yer Bitchin. Departing The Target parking lot in Hampton at 7:30am to head to Williamsburg Cars and Coffee. For the new people that haven't participated before, it's a good time to hang out with fellow enthusiasts of all makes and models and talk shop or don't, drink coffe or dont and then head to brunch afterward. Last C&C I attended up there (January I believe) it was ******* cold but we had a great turnout including local Z owners from VB. Brunch was excellent unless your name is Tim and you just suck at life. :stirthepot:

Anyhow... If anyone wishes to meet up locally and caravan up to the meeting spot, be at the Starbucks off Independence and Investor's Place just south of 264 no later than 6:45. We'll depart promptly at 6:50.

As always, my buddies from the Acura club will be in attendance. All good people. Join us if you can! Since it'll be sunny and almost 60 on Saturday we may very likely do BBQ for lunch. There's a couple of good places up there.

Shine em up! Hope to see everyone there!
