Just don't enjoy the big cruises as much as darting about on my own or with just one or two other cars. It's not an antisocial stance, it's a logistics issue. I don't enjoy being in large groups of loud, fast cars. It's not as enjoyable.

Besides that, our coffee meets have gone to hell. I'm going to do something about that and start attending every one, even if there are other events going on.

:iagree:

I like cruising by myself, just going up and down 211 on skyline drive is enjoyable enough to me since I do it after almost ever FFX meet.

I mostly started leading cruises to expose Z owners to roads that they could later go and drive themselves. That was the whole idea.

XwChriswX 08-28-2012 11:05 AM

I would be more apt to going on cruses if we could get them more notherly... I can't often make it to every Columbia meet/cruise since it's so far south. I'd like to, but lack of funding + $4/gal doesn't bode well...

You would probably be best off driving around Frederick and the surrounding areas, if there ever is another cruise up there. You'd absolutely love those roads, and they're a pretty convenient distance for you, a good number of Nova peeps, and Baltimorons.

Honestly, Frederick is only a tiny bit closer than Columbia, in a different direction. It sucks... My parents picked the absolute worst spot to live when you want to do things. :shakes head: This is a fuckin dead zone for entertainment purposes. :shakes head:

Yeah no one seems to go anymore. Idk why, last summer we'd have like 10-20 cars show up each meet. Now we're lucky to have more than 3.

m4a1mustang 08-28-2012 11:51 AM

I know I for one have been mad busy. Its not that I don't like you guys (I don't :p ) but I only have Saturday and Sunday to get anything done so often times I miss meets. I haven't been to a VA meet in forever but hope to start making them soon when life calms down and the weather cools off.

Yeah, the meets behind the Starbucks havent been the same :|

RandyD 08-28-2012 12:01 PM

I also cruize 'lone wolf' style all the time.. scouting all those good roads.

the larger group thing is really maybe only 3x per year.. so not much at all - and like the shaderps - i do it so other people can learn the good roads.

I actually haven't touched my Z in over 2 weeks now. Partly because I've been on travel, and partly because the Altima is so good on gas I only have to fill that up every 3 weeks. I get over 500 miles a tank in that thing lol.

I used to get like 450 in my Z when commuting to school. Now I'm only getting like 350 or so after putting on the summer tires and just going on my short commute to work.

Masa 08-28-2012 02:19 PM

Yea I can get 400 on the Z depending on how I drive but the Altima drinks the low grade 87 octane gas lol. That and traffic with the semester just starting is horrible - rather putter around in an automatic till people start dropping out and traffic normalizes again.

HANS device should be mandatory for all Honduhs

m4a1mustang 08-29-2012 09:32 AM

VTEC is so lame. All it does is upset balance unless you keep it above 6k at all times. And that balance upset is not worth the extra 2 hp bump you get.

S2000 needs an LSx ASAP.

Honestly, you'd have a lot more fun and see much nicer cars at one of the exotic cars & coffee meets.

I agree.

I remember in high school when I got my 98 civic ex with VTECCCCC I bragged about it with its 127 blazing hp.

This.

When I think about it in operation it makes me laugh. Great idea back in the day but today's systems are so much better and fairly seamless.

Masa 08-29-2012 12:25 PM

Yeah I hated advertising it when I had my Si. I went so far as to peel off the i-VTEC stickers on the sides of the car and debadged the Si emblem on the back. I stuck a DX emblem on for laughs.

Yeah back when the NSX first came out it was ingenious... but infinitely variable valve timing systems have been out since the late 90's now :icon17:
