Its a really fast hiss noise.. probably about a second long, its really fast. It doesnt happen at like 3 to 3k rpm though. Only at higher rpm.

Yeah that's normal and happens when you let off the accelerator. You notice it a lot more after installing HFC's or test pipes.

eastwest2300 12-23-2012 04:47 PM

Ahh thats exactly what it is.. I was like WTF?! I almost freaked out.

eastwest2300 12-23-2012 04:47 PM

I added the steel whool yesterday, but it didnt clear the CEL.. i may have to replace the O2 sensors.

I think you have to get the code cleared either way. If it comes back, then the problem still exists. If it doesn't, then you're good.

Yeah, I took it to the dealer in college park, they tried to clear it, but it came back.. I'll fix it, it'll just take me a little bit trying to figure it out.

Have it cleared, and if it comes back, do a good long drive afterwards. To give the engine time to cycle for a while and it should clear the code on it's own.

If you've driven continuously for 30-50 miles after having it "cleared" better go take the sensor back to get inspected. But it should either clear itself, or you have a bad sensor which just needs a swap.

Yeah thats what we're thinking, its a bad sensor.. hopefully. Im crossing my fingers.

Hope it isn't, from what I've heard, o2 sensors aren't cheap... :ugh2:

eastwest2300 12-23-2012 07:03 PM

I've found them on eBay.

eastwest2300 12-23-2012 07:06 PM

But before I buy any o2 sensors, im gonna troubleshoot first.
