crusing and being on the track are two waaaaaaaay different things, just saying.

eastwest2300 01-29-2013 11:47 AM

The question is, when are we going to the track? lets have a CRUISE to the track, how about that? That way we can combine the best of both worlds. Blades, would that make you happy? You can wash your panties now..

I may have exaggerated a bit, but like Steve said there are some unexpected things that you can't control. I might not make a mistake, but someone else's mistake could cost me. In that situation I'm still screwed without track insurance.

Well the track event is in late April. There are some nice roads on the way there. It's only like 1.5 hrs to WV. If you are actually serious about this, you'll need some track prep mods before we go. Brake pads/fluid, clutch fluid, and possibly an oil cooler too.

eastwest2300 01-29-2013 11:55 AM

Dude, Im not trying to run laps around the track, I wanna race you in the quarter mile, thats it, thats all i wanna do.

eastwest2300 01-29-2013 11:56 AM

simple as that...i hate to be blunt. but it is what it is.

b1adesofcha0s 01-29-2013 12:01 PM

Which track did you think I was talking about this whole time? You get one of these dude

eastwest2300 01-29-2013 12:02 PM

I heard theres 2 tracks around here, MIR and Summit, is that correct?

b1adesofcha0s 01-29-2013 12:05 PM

Let's start by differentiating between a road course and a drag strip. Summit Point is a road course. MIR is a drag strip. If you want to go to a drag strip, I'd rather go to Capitol Raceway since it's a lot closer.

eastwest2300 01-29-2013 12:05 PM

Drag strip it is...

You're no fun :p

I'll probably be going whenever I get my new tires. Probably some time in March.

Sorry, I should have said...what YOU said wasn't dumb. But someone doing that on track is fairly retarded, and likely would pay your repairs unless they want to be black listed with that racing organization..

Also, I'm saying: you should be more worried about your own mistakes, than ANYONE else on the track.

Is that how it usually works? I would think someone in a beginner's level wouldn't care about getting blacklisted. I worry about it more when I'm off the track than when I'm on it, but I get what you're saying.

chieuxuan 01-29-2013 01:45 PM

anybody wants pink slip with my Accord??:hello:

Masa 01-29-2013 01:55 PM

I'd race you Henry if I still had my 93 Sentra SE-R lol

chieuxuan 01-29-2013 02:00 PM

Nah, your SE-R would kick my asre

eastwest2300 01-29-2013 02:42 PM

Nope, really the only two people that need to race (on the drag strip) is me and blades, so we can shut each other up.

b1adesofcha0s 01-29-2013 02:45 PM

Why am I always being challenged to drag races? Need to throw FP in the mix as well. Might as well turn it into a meat :icon17:

It's really a gentleman's thing, in reality - if you caused the accident completely, it's pretty much on that guy to make amends. If you were just a participant and it was partially your fault? You each pay your own repairs. But, I'd wager to guess that if a guy get's a reputation for wrecking someone's car and then NOT sacking-up and footing the bill? He wont be racing with that group much. Or many other groups. Have you SEEN how rumors spread? lol

In beginner, if someone tries to pass at the wrong time, he will get an EARFUL from the instructor before he even can start moving past the person in front of him. If he CONTINUES against the instructors word? That guy is done. He'll be pitted, and MAYBE if he begs and pleads, might get let out onto the track. If he doesn't pit-in when he's told to? The moment that car comes to rest, the instructor will likely kick his ***. Maybe file kidnapping charges :-p

Otherwise, he's just engaged in quite possibly the most dangers maneuver on the track without a signal to proceed, and against his instructors word. It won't end well for the driver.

In reality, if a driver attempts to pass without signal, the instructor will bark at him immediately to back off until he's given a point, and the student will do just that. Life goes on. Mistakes happen. But a mistaken pass with no point-by? BIG error.
