Good shop for Swift install.

Anyone have any recommendations for shops to get my Swifts installed?

Hill's Garage contacted me and they are pretty booked for a while so I am on a waiting list with them. Wondering if anyone had other shops I could bring it into.

You could always try the Kirk Garage. It's where I get all my work done. :p

I'd ask him to help me with my Eibach install... but he'd expect some 24's to go along with it...

I think most shops want up to $600 for a spring install. One reason why I'd like to enlist the help of someone with a spring compressor instead. Payment in beer and pizza (or in Kirk's case... coffee and Dunkin Donuts )

b1adesofcha0s 08-29-2011 10:52 AM

I gotta buy him lunch or something at the next meet to pay for all the stuff I've gotten done from him :p

Haha yea, I called AAM they wanted $430. Hills was reasonable, $200 but they have a huge wait list. Sent Atlantic Motorsports an email as well, waiting to hear back from them.

I know it's not a very difficult job, but just want to ensure it's done right and without having to hear any clunking or knocking after I drive it away. Looking forward to hearing any other quotes you get

Might as well get on that waiting list now. It's only going to get longer the more you wait. If you find something else, it's easier just to cancel ahead of time than to get back in line.

AAM tried to butt surf me for my bung install, won't go back to them again.

You could try JE Import performance also.

If you want to do it yourself you can shoot me a PM and we will open up Kirk's Garage...

It is stupid simple. No clunks from my coil over install...

Kirkster 08-29-2011 02:37 PM

I guess I could have just done one post with a multi quote, but this way gets my post count up without having to resort to the dreaded obligatory

:iagree:

posts with no real content or value...

Red__Zed 08-29-2011 02:41 PM

You can also get jose's contact info from blades. He will align it as well.

Will 2 dozen cover the invoice from Kirk's garage?

b1adesofcha0s 08-29-2011 04:17 PM

Remind me to buy you lunch at the next meet Kirk. Or I could get you donuts if you prefer

Thanks for reminding me Dan, I gotta get in touch with him to get my alignment done?

I am not a big fan of drilling holes through a car. But if you want help doing it I can do that. The spoiler comes with a really good template right?

You know honestly, I havent even looked into the box. Im guessing it does though. I've never done anything like that, and like you, Im definitely not a big fan of drilling holes.

I want to see this! I am playing around with the idea of getting a spoiler - someone can be the guinea pig before I take the leap :happydance:

birdmanx1 08-30-2011 12:43 PM

You can always count on Kirk. He is DA man and has a garage full of toys and tools

Masa 08-30-2011 01:08 PM

Update for those who are curious about quotes i got for install:

Hills Garage - $200
Atlantic Motorsports - $200
AAM - $430 (what the hell are these guys smoking?)

Red__Zed 08-30-2011 01:13 PM

I think it's either $75 or $100 with alignment from the guy that is doing the alignment for blades

Wow, didn't realize Atlantic Motorsports was in Gaithersburg. $200 isn't bad, but I'd rather pay Kirk in Krispy Kreme donuts and help wrench on my car instead

Agreed. Plus, it's a sense of accomplishment (well, for me at least) :bowrofl:

Masa 08-30-2011 01:50 PM

Yeah, totally agree with working on it myself. Just gotta see when I have some free time to actually work on it. :p

Kirkster 08-30-2011 01:55 PM

Yea time is always an issue...

Kirk's garage is going to have a wait list at the rate things are going.

1) Trooper (springs and a lift kit)
2) Masa (springs)
3) GM Traitor (springs and 24s)
3) Eastwest2300 (crooked Spoiler)

Well, buddy at work has spring compressors he will let me borrow so I took off Friday and gonna try it myself. Stay tuned for pics pending of either epic win or epic fail. :ughdance:

Kirkster 08-30-2011 04:30 PM

make sure you have a 1/2inch 19mm 6 point socket. they put the bottom bolt on the front shocks on with STUPID torque levels. I broke 2 1/4 to 1/2inch adaptors.

Other than that bolt it is fairly strait forward. the sway bar links are on pretty tight also.

Yeah, I just replaced the brakes and rotors on my Masivo Eclipse. I didnt think I could do it, but I did. Thanks to a few youtube videos, and a little self confidence, we got it done. AND we saved money not paying someone to do it.:driving:

Thank you Kirk for putting me on the list. There's no rush for me, next week, I'll be leaving for NY for my job, we got the United Nations General Assembly, so I'll be out there for a good 25 days.

China, Mongolia, and Japan was fun, I just made it back not even a week ago, I did some crazy shopping.

You forgot my intakes whenever they come in :p

Also, the alignment from Dan's friend is $50.

Swifts are on - was pretty straightforward install. Took like 2 hours.
