Is it possible to rent a 370Z?

I'm planning a road trip with just me and another person and I wanted to know if it's possible to rent a 370Z in VA?

I currently don't own one, but it's definitely a car I would like to own and renting one for a nice road trip would be a great way to test it out.

eastwest2300 01-31-2011 09:08 PM

Man, just go ahead and buy one, I love the 370Z man, and I'd bet everyone on here loves theirs too.

Kirkster 01-31-2011 11:35 PM

Yea, everyone but Mustang...

I seriously dont think any car rental places are gonna have the Z, its a $30K car.. lol, I'd be shocked to see if they did. This dude is better off test driving it at a few dealerships. lol

Hertz will rent you a Corvette ZHZ, a $50K car. Price isn't the issue, it is how much they charge that is the problem. Hertz also used to rent convertible 350Z's (at least in Vegas and Florida) so they may possibly have a 370Z but I haven't seen one yet.

eastwest2300 02-01-2011 07:09 AM

Dude, I would like to see it, it'd be pretty cool..

I doubt they rent any 370s out in VA. About the sportiest car you can rent these days from the local places is a V6 Camaro. If you want a convertible you're stuck with a Chrysler Sebring. :bowrofl:

Just go take a Z on an extended test drive. All you need is 20 miles or so to decide if you want it or not. Just come to the dealership pre-financed because you're going to end up buying it.

Or with cash if you've got baller status. :icon17:

Or half-cash if you are only semi-baller. :(

eastwest2300 02-01-2011 08:05 AM

Bro, I saw the Z, and I was like damn, thats a nice car.. I thought about, I thought about it, I got on autotrader, almost bought a used one from California, woulda had to pay to ship it, Im glad I didnt go through with that.

Then I went into a phase where I was like, do I need it? noooo. then 2 days later, I just went and bought one, I SERIOUSLY had a case of buyers remorse, I was like oh my gosh, I just spent $31,000... FML! I've had my Z about 6 months, and only owe $12,600.

Ballin!

In2uitiv 02-02-2011 05:58 AM

I would like to pay off the M35 before getting the 370Z. I might end up with picking another car to rent, possibly this Cayman...

Rent a Porsche Cayman S in Washington DC & Virginia | Status Ride

I'd go with the Lambo or Ferrari, lol.

If you end up renting the Cayman S you might end up buying one. They are really nice. The driving experience is a step above the Z, but one can argue whether or not it's worth the extra $20-30k. :p I looked at them before I got my Z, but it's just too much money for too little car IMO. :icon17:

BTW, thank you for posting that link. I might need to rent that Lambo for my girl's birthday.

She would never let me drive it. :shakes head: She's a Lambo freak. I'm more into Ferrari.

I'd take a Lambo or Ferrari over a Z or even a GT-R anyday. If only they weren't so expensive...

Yeah I've been thinking about what car to get after I graduate and start working. I've been thinking about a new GT-R, but I could also get a used Lambo or Ferrari for probably around the same price. Of course this is like 3-4 years from now, so I will enjoy my Z until then.

m4a1mustang 02-02-2011 09:35 AM

One day I am going to buy a Ferrari. Luckily for me my favorite one isn't all that expensive anymore. 550/575 Maranello.

b1adesofcha0s 02-02-2011 09:39 AM

I've always been more of a Lamborghini guy, but that Ferrari 458 Italia is pretty amazing.

You can get one for less than 100k, and that's saying a lot for what that car can do! Those things would eat most other GT's alive in their heyday.

shadoquad 02-02-2011 09:51 AM

I had looked into renting exotics a while back. If you think about it, it's expensive, but it's hella fun for the money.

I considered renting a Ferrari for a trip to Vegas. I'm glad that I didn't, in hindsight. Because once you get to Vegas, everyone has an exotic car, and driving around Vegas is a nightmare. It's better to take a cab everywhere if you're staying within the city.

tooohip 02-02-2011 10:04 AM

Driving in Vegas is a piece of cake ya hoser. It's just the damn lights that take 5 minutes to cycle! ;-)

Not when I was there. The strip was constant gridlock. So, instead of dealing with that frustration, I just paid a cabby to do that and sat in the AC. It was 106 degrees outside. I was in no rush and feeling no frustration.

Ah, I never had that many problems on the strip, but usually avoided it and took parallel roads. I've spent 2-weeks there for work every April since 2007 so It's sort of my home away from home.

I was there during the Black Hat and Defcon conferences in 2003. They're among the biggest Security/Hacker conferences in the world. And it was the middle of Summer. Vegas was humming with activity.

So, when in April are you and I going this year? :bowrofl:

I went for NAB, which is one of the largest conventions there. Lot's of traffic, but I guess it doesn't seem like much when you drive in the B'more DC area. ;-)

Oh and I'm not going this year. Actually as of this Friday I am unemployed, LOL! Saweeeettttt!!!

Oh no worries, LOL! I'm kind of glad I don't have to go out there this year. ;-) Yeah on the job front, not sure what I plan to do. Going to spend next week updating the resume.

I'm not an IT guy like half you are. ;-) Oh, maybe I should become one though??? ;-)
