:iagree:

Still need to pay the ticket I got in FFX by June. Don't need anymore attention from the police :eekdance:

Pretty high! We don't really go all that fast on the dragon, anyways.

Last year, because the road was closed at MM11, it was fairly easy to tell when you were in the clear because they only had two LEOs patrolling and if you saw the two of them early on you knew you were clear the rest of the way. This year you'll never really know.

They are pretty aggressive with their ticketing. Make sure you keep your wheels off the double yellow lines, as that's something like a $500 fine for even touching them.

From what I understand, you really don't get out of second gear on the dragon, so I imagine I won't need to speed to enjoy it. Is that about right?

You'll get into 3rd eventually just to cool the oil unless you have an oil cooler.

You use 2nd and 3rd gear a lot. If you don't have an oil cooler and temps are over 70* you're probably going to want to be using 3rd and 4th gear more just to keep the revs down. I think last year I was around 250-260* on the oil temp without really pushing hard.

yeah, double yellow violations are pretty common on the dragon. be careful!

Mike 05-16-2011 03:13 PM

oh yeah, another popular one that has happened to more than a few people is being behind a pickup truck on Hwy 28 out towards the dragon, and its a park truck that pulls aside so you can pass, then once you do, another cop pulls you over for passing in a no passing zone.

What are you supposed to do in that situation, pull over behind them?

I don't understand how that works if the truck actually pulls off the road to let you by. :shakes head:

he isn't completely off and you can't get by without going over the yellow.

So you have to just stop and wait for him to get completely off of the road (which he probably won't do). That's pretty lame.

Dan's good at distracting the cops right? :roflpuke2:

Well there is no where to pull off on 90% of those roads unless you want to take a tumble, LOL!
