PLEASE kill me....

... My car is getting fixed and my rental car is a Chevy HHR. Every time I get in it, I die a little inside....

dad 04-07-2010 10:49 PM

You'll need to PM Frost, he may have homicidal tendencies!

P.S., if he kills you can I have your car when it's fixed! After all I did recommend him!

nogoodname 04-07-2010 10:51 PM

Better than taking the bus! ....LoL

I'm without The Smurf....going on 4 days now. Getting rides with my aunt. I want my Z back! How much longer for ya? We need ya out at our Saturday meets. ;)

rarwz 04-08-2010 05:52 AM

the dealership in Timonium gives you a Hyundai elantra for a loaner. Manual locks, and windows. Automatic. There was a CD player, surprise surprise, but it was also a smoker vehicle and smelled terrible.

When I walked out into the service lane the attendant gave me that 'I know... sorry' look. My 'I give you a 330HP monster Z, you give me a manual window elantra?!?' didn't get anywhere either.

Then they said the work wouldn't be done till after the weekend, and asked if i wanted to keep the loaner or come get my car for the weekend, yea hard decision there.

madelf 04-08-2010 08:16 AM

I with you:facepalm:. Took my wife's Audi Q5 in for repairs and the only thing they said they could do was a Chevy Cobalt for a loaner. Just like you manual windows, manual seats, and not comfortable either.

Yeah, they should at least give up something comparable for a loaner. At least at BMW they give you another BMW...even if it is a 3 series.

But like was mentioned earlier...... better than walking or taking the bus....:twocents:

Hey, it could be worse. I'm driving a dirty Dodge Journey out here in Vegas! ;-)

370Zsteve 04-08-2010 09:08 AM

At first when you said HHR I thought you meant this, and I was like "wtf, what a cool rental! That thing has a Corvette engine!"

Then I realized it was this thing and I was like, "oh, sorry dude"

If only it was this one:

http://image.automotive.com/f/featur...custom_hhr.jpg

A 6.0L Gen IV LS2 V-8 fitted with a polished MagnaCharger supercharger replaced the factory four-banger, and a Griffin radiator cools the 525hp powerplant, while an Old Products air conditioner chills the driver and passenger. Mated to the engine is a 4L65E four-speed automatic tranny; the gear ratio was changed to 3.25:1. A rack-and-pinion setup replaces the stock electric, power-assisted rack-and-pinion. Front and rear coilovers smooth out a ride punctuated by 18-1/2-inch Weld Racing Tech-Star wheels and P245/40ZR18 g-Force BFGoodrich tires leashed by Baer's PBR two-piston front and rear disc brakes.

I got to see this guy in person right after it was finished (had some friends that worked there) and it was badass. Too bad the owner was a bastard and brought the company down. Still wearing my UP shirt today though

zZSportZz 04-08-2010 09:37 AM

I've had it for 4 days now. It's the biggest POS ever. I literally say a prayer ever morning as I try to gain enough speed on the on-ramp. This thing has to take over 10 seconds 0-60. I can't take it anymore. The seats are so upright and open (the console in the middle is on the floorboard) that I feel like a bus driver.

It's bright red. My friends call it "the red rocket".

Don't lie, you have no friends. :stirthepot:

PapoZalsa 04-08-2010 08:58 PM

When I rent a car I always get a HHR or the other piece of junk Chrysler that looks alike.

At least my Nissan dealer gives me an Altima.

The last time I had my old 350Z in the shop I got a Cadillac CTS from the insurance company, baller! :D

Maybe we should start a "Save Rick" thread. You gonna be out this weekend at the meet in Fairfax?

zZSportZz 04-10-2010 10:16 AM

No, i wont be there..I'm a little pissed atm. The insurance company messed up the paperwork...so it needed to be re-evaluated...

I got the call from the body shop on Monday, the guy explained that they needed to do more work than what was in the estimate. The rear quarter panel had a crease in it, but the paperwork only had the quarter panel being blended (not actually repaired). The guy explained it may delay my car a little from being completed but he wanted to make sure the job was done right. The adjuster KNEW it was creased, he said it as I was standing next to him, and he took a picture of it...but it never made it into the estimate (wtf).

Fast forward to Friday, I walk in looking for an update to my car..and my car is sitting in the parking lot. So I'm like..."cool, it must be done". Upon closer inspection I see it hasn't even been touched". So I walk in a little pissed asking "WTF yo?"...The body shop is like "your insurance company has not re-evaluated the car"..

Then I walk into the local insurance company office and the lady there tells me..."I don't know why he didn't do it (he being the adjuster)..hes been here all week."

So I went off and I'm like "my car has been sitting there for a week and nothing has happened, you have been paying for a rental car I don't even need"

So she gets pissy and is like "sir, some people are waiting 2 weeks for their car to be repaired" So I'm like..."I've been waiting since ******* February"

So she told me she'll make sure he looked it at that day...so who knows at this point when it will be done.

I'll be in the Red Rocket for probably another week...if I can make it that long.

SoCal 370Z 04-10-2010 10:53 AM

You asked for it...

LinPark 04-10-2010 11:13 AM

When I went to pick up my 370Z, the rental company "upgraded" me to a PT Cruiser (the Chrysler version of the HHR). If that was an upgrade, can you imagine what the other thing would have looked like? Must've been a bicycle or something. :stirthepot: BUT, going from that to the 370Z in the same day really made it feel that much better.

ZCarMan 04-10-2010 06:13 PM

Rick,

what insurance company is it that I need to make sure I don't go with? I would have been ready to spit nails at that **** weed! Well, we all asked about you today at lunch. We were expecting you but under the circumstances I can certainly understand. Hopefully you at least get a "We're Sorry" before you tell them to get bent.

zZSportZz 04-10-2010 09:02 PM

Geico

ZCarMan 04-11-2010 06:54 AM

I don't have Geico but they are supposed to be pretty good from what I've heard. Sounds like you got the turd in the punchbowl of an adjuster.

4r3s 04-11-2010 07:33 AM

I will never use geico again. when I did a barrell roll in my tbird they did total it and did pay out well but there after they were trying to charge me 1300 for 6months ins. Obviously they didnt want my buisness anymore. Switched to allstate and I was down to 500 for 6months. thinking I might have to switch again soon they bumped me up to 700 after getting the z.

oh yeah my dad was with geico for 20+ years and after he turned 65 they doubled his rates. he told them to go f*ck themselves. The man is unreal, has never had a speeding ticket or anything in his life.

RandyJamesA 04-12-2010 10:31 AM

Welcome to my life. I commute daily with my girlfriend, so we take her car and I drive. It's an 07 HHR, so I bounce routinely from HHR to 370Z.

OMG DUDE..I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!!

(yes caps were needed)

zZSportZz 04-12-2010 05:21 PM

Just got "the call". The car is going into paint tomorrow and I should have it just in time for the pollen...errr...I mean the weekend.

Side note: I was sitting at a light today and some dude pulled up next to me in a VW Bug (flowers were present). Couldn't help but think that....at least driving the HHR....I'm not at the COMPLETE end of the "gay ride" food chain. He is. However, with the 2 weeks spent in this thing, I think I'm growing a vagina.

madelf 04-12-2010 05:40 PM

Now I really feel your pain..... I'm on a business trip and i am stuck in a Toyota Camry:crying:

OP, Nissan is fixing the issue of my front bumper with the holes they drilled. Today I dropped the car to get a new bumper and they gave me a rental.

According to Enterprise when Nissan is paying for the rental they have to give you a Nissan.

Guess what.......

All they had was a Cube, I was like WTF!!!! :shakes head: :shakes head:

Review of the Cube is coming later...
