Ill be there, wish I could give those dirty VA people a hard time for bailing but I have as of yet to show up at one of their meets. Fairfax is just too far to drive so early in the morning.

At least you're headed home. I remember riding in the back of a C-130 from Djibouti to Qatar and then from Bahrain back to Djibouti. Damn cargo seats get mighty uncomfortable after 6.5hrs.

HaHa, I feel your pain man.

I rode a Galaxy C-5 for 19 hours to the Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic.

I spent nearly 5 months in that hell hole once I arrive.

Yep, done that too......C5 from Tucson (DMAFB) to Cairo West -- 18 hrs, 2 aerial refuels -- however we weren't in cargo seats so it wasn't THAT bad, but now that I'm a soft and whinny civilian -- I want business class or first class, warm food, and short flights.......I wish.........anyway I did get an upgrade for the LAX to IAD leg, but looks like I'm back among us commoners :icon17: on the 11.5 hr leg from Seoul to LAX.

Anyway, back on topic -- hope you guys have a great meet in MD, should be at next weekends get together....that is Labor Day weekend, do we have something planned?

rtcpenguin 08-28-2010 09:02 AM

I don't see anybody outside. Guess today is an off day. I finally got my car back from the shop. It took 3 months and the total came to $22,189..haha.

Holy $hit why didn't they just total it?

ZCarMan 08-28-2010 01:39 PM

And to all those from VA who came to the meet in MD today......oh wait, that would be NOBODY!!!:stirthepot:

To all those who made it to the MD meet today, it was good to see all of you! Mexican for lunch was fan-freaking-tastic!! Five 370Zs for the first MD meet isn't bad at all. Now that I know how to get there. Next weekend we're down in Fairfax so lets show them Virginians!:bowrofl:

Had a good time! Wish some folks from VA and from MD would have shown up. The location is good, though. The coffee was good (you could go to starbucks OR another shop), the parking lot wasn't full. It did get a bit hot out, and there was no shade. But overall a good place to meet.

m4a1mustang 08-28-2010 03:35 PM

Sorry I couldn't make it today guys. Had a hair cut and I was SUPPOSED to uninstall parts, but that's happening tomorrow. I will definitely make it out to the next MD meet... hopefully in my Mustang!

m4a1mustang 08-28-2010 03:37 PM

BTW, Jon, I think we really need to get on planning that cruise out to the crab place you were telling us about. We should definitely head out there while it's still summery!

Also, I'm thinking we're getting close to needing another Gordon Biersch dinner meet in Annapolis again!

Well, we could do either one of those at the next MD meet. We could hook up somewhere, even King's Contrivance, in the morning, and then convoy over to either GB or the crab place (I think that's Harris' ?). That's Sept. 11 weekend. Everybody up for that? Or we could even make that an evening event, a dinner thing.

I always found that it's easier just to meet up at GB since they are dinner meets.

But meeting up at your meeting spot before heading out to get crabs sounds like a good idea. We probably won't have to go far. :bowrofl:

Steve, funny you should mention it. We were all talking about that today at lunch. I am in agreement. Just need to fix a date and then do it.

Right, $22,189? There is certain percentage that the insurance will allow off the MSRP of the car. :dunno:

Kirkster 08-28-2010 07:40 PM

Well Crap... Somehow I failed to look at this thread and missed the fact that there was a MD meet. Doh... Sorry Guys....

I would have had a hard time making it anyway as I spent from 10 AM to 8 PM doing Junkman's paint correction on top of the 6 hours I spent yesterday.

Better luck next time for me...

It may happen again in another two weeks or so.

So, any of you VA or MD Mid-A Z owners thinking of doing the karting/bbq at Summit Point? I know there are 3 of us in the 370Z crowd so far headed over. Would be great if we could meet up and then cruise on up. Its coming up fast (next Sunday).

You guys have it all wrong. If I came out, I'd be like Koopa in Mario Kart. Sure, I'm slower, but you won't get by me without contact. Rubbin' is racin', and I win the momentum battle. Physics ftw. Turtle shells and banana peels notwithstanding, of course.

m4a1mustang 08-30-2010 12:10 PM

If it's the 26th now maybe I can do it. Someone post the info!

Finally had some free time to jump on the forum! Jay here from the weekly MAZOC meet at Fair Lakes with the blue Maxima (don't yell!). Wanted to let you guys know that the SPK carts at Summit Point are a blast to drive. A few buddies of mine and I went there about a month ago and competed in 4 different races. I think they hit about 50mph or so on the back straight. While this may not seem very quick, when you're only an inch off the ground, feels a helluva lot faster!

Hope to see everyone in Fair Lakes this weekend... took all day Saturday to Zaino the bejeesus out of the Maxima, and well worth it!
