As far as the range goes, I haven't actually been to a real pistol range either. I just shot on private land.

Not sure what Dan would recommend but some friends of mine have recommended Blue Ridge Arsenal which is pretty close to where we meet. But I think you might need to have a membership there before you can use the range, not sure.

Dan... guide us! :icon17:

Actually, nevermind, you don't need a membership to use the range there. But a membership does get you discounts.

They rent guns there too.

Not sure on Blue Ridge, I can look into that. The NRA range is also not far away from there. I've done all my shooting at either my parents house or Clark Bros, which might be a bit of a hike, especially for Marylanders.

I'd guess the NRA range would be our best bet, though if Blue Ridge let's us shoot, it may be worth it.

I'll bring a pair of extra handguns for people to borrow or whatever.

The issue with the NRA range is that it is probably going to be pretty busy. My friend goes there every now and then and some weekends they have over an hour wait for the range.

It's possible that if we got a headcount we could block off a few lanes at BRA. I guess it really depends on how busy they are. I know it's a little short notice to be trying to reserve group lanes.

I was in the military for 5 years, i have no problem shooting, or paying the fees or whatever, itd be fun. Pistols are kinda boring though.

I read that and wasn't sure how to interpret it. The only rate they give is a membership rate, which means either a non-member rate is more (and not posted), or they don't offer a non-member rate. I guess it could also just mean it is more poorly worded than my posts, but I'm not sure they've got anyone that talented.

I have an 1893 Mauser that I'd like to shoot at some point. Just need to have it checked out by a gunsmith to make sure it doesn't explode and kill me.

I've never been near a gun before. I do need money for my day at the drag strip on Sunday, so I'm not completely sure if I'm gonna go to the range or not. May still come out for the meet if the weather is OK.
