Some were terrific, some were not really suitable for a motor vehicle (hello unpaved one-lane street with steep hills and deep shoulders). I also went up to Thurmont to check out Cunningham Falls Park and Catoctin Mtn Park. While scenic, those roads are really not as suitable for play. Thurmont was pretty and nice, though. Frederick was fantastic, though. Nice people, great roads, even found an import tuning shop with a bunch of RX-7's and Z's.

Anyway, from there, I cut my way across Taneytown and Hampstead to go to Pretty Boy, where I stopped for some quick photos by the Dam.

I stopped by the Ztuners meet for a minute to introduce myself, and then raised some hell at Loch Raven before heading home.

Wow your car looks clean in those photos you must have had the dirt filter enabled in the camera... I saw you at the mdZtuners and it needed a bath badly!!!

Saw the other supercharged z in this area. Glad I did not go through everything he did...

Nope, that's her all covered in pollen and dirt. I guess the combo of crummy iPhone cam plus slightly overcast conditions equals pretty?

Kirkster 06-26-2011 08:53 AM

Or at least it does not show the dirt.

Seems like a nice drive, Al. I spent yesterday in Richmond with my sister's car (2010 Escape)... Boy it is nice to drive a regular car with an automatic from time to time!

New Z wheels

Im looking at HD's Autobahn 2 tone for my 18x8 and 18x9's stock. These rims only come in 18x8 size . How would this affect looks and performance? Thanks

Wrong Thread. Please repost in the "Mid-A Epic Randomness Thread!"

Never go with narrower wheels in the rear.... you should be looking at minimum of 18X9 in the front and 18X10 or 11 in the rear...

I had a new shotgun in the car, and my handgun, so it cancels out. Actually, since I had two firearms in the car it gets me a corner back.

Only if the handgun has a caliber that is greater than or equal to .40 caliber. If it is in the Europelet caliber it actually nullifies the shotgun unless said shotgun was either a 10 Gauge or a 12 gauge loaded with 3 inch magnum slugs.

If the shotgun was a 410 we will all chip in to get the mustang a hot pink vinyl wrap.

m4a1mustang 06-26-2011 09:04 PM

Hey Kirk, I am out of paper targets. Do you mind standing in for them? I'm only shooting my 124gr Speer Gold-Dot 9mm europelets. You should be fine. ;)

And the shotty is a Remington 870 Express 12ga with 18" barrel. Ordering a collapsing stock and some other bits for it right now.

Not a problem.

I know of a PG cop that put 19 rounds of europelet into a bad guy and the bad guy lived to sue the county cops. That lawsuit might have had something to do with 13 or so rounds being in the back. I guess the moral of that story is don't run, cuz the popo don't like to chase you and that europelet just does not get the job done :stirthepot:

Heh. Your average cop does not shoot much at all. Most only shoot once a year for qualification... Shame really as most departments provide practice ammo.

When I compete I shoot roughly 1000 rounds of .45 a month. But then I reload so it is costing me roughly 8 bucks per 100.

m4a1mustang 06-26-2011 09:24 PM

Yeah you'd think they shot more often. Probably why there is so much collateral damage in police shootouts. Stray rounds.

b1adesofcha0s 06-26-2011 09:28 PM

Kirk, did you know there was a shooting range near Severn? I saw It one day, but I forgot where exactly.

Route 175. Called "On target". I go there from time to time. Nice facility, they do have long waits on sat and Sunday mornings sometimes.

Stop trying to distract me, I am not done picking on Steve and his europelets yet.

b1adesofcha0s 06-26-2011 11:26 PM

Sorry, please carry on :tiphat:

Thinking of the weekend after the BBQ or two weeks after that.

I'll post it tonight. I received a map from a friend in Frederick. While some of the roads were incredible, others were unsuitable for the cruises we do.

Plus I have to decide on how long to make it, and where to stop along the way.

I'm going to make this a multi-stage cruise, I think.

I drove for 8 hours on Saturday, beginning with the 3 hours or so go get around Frederick and Thurmont, then cutting over to Pretty Boy and Loch Raven, and I loved every minute of it. But that's a lot of driving, and not everybody is going to want to do every section, I'm guessing.

So, it'll either be a multi-section mega cruise, or I'll just keep it to around Frederick/Thurmont for now.

birdmanx1 06-27-2011 12:03 PM

The multi-section megaman cruise sounds good, so those who may need to cut it shorter would short get to enjoy some of the cruise with the unit. Great stuff Al, I am sure it will turn out to be tons of fun as always

b1adesofcha0s 06-27-2011 12:57 PM
