The closest is a 1/8th mile in Manassas, Old Dominion Speedway. However it is only open for Test & Tune on Wednesdays.

Lame. I guess I will just have to wait then. There are some opening tomorrow in MD, but they're like 1.5 hrs away and I don't feel like driving that far, especially after driving to FFX for the meet.

Starbucks at 10. Usually sometime between 11:30-12 we roll out to lunch.

Looking forward to meeting ya

I'll be there. There's a chance I might skip lunch and go straight to the range, though. Trying to manage time as best as possible. Steve Fitz knows whats up. :icon17:

b1adesofcha0s 03-05-2011 08:05 AM

I'm leaving right now, but I'm gonna have to skip the range. I have help my cousin take off his winter wheels and put on his summer ones.

Good to see everyone today!

Dan, thanks for being such a good sport today at the range for sticking it out even though it all got effed up in the end. We'll have to go again soon, your lane and ammo will be on me!

Amar and Shahid, you guys both shot very well for your first time! Great to shoot with you guys and hope to do it again very soon.

Oh, and I think I might want to get w P2000 now... That gun was nice!

Yeah today was fun. I think I've met most of the Mid-A crew now at least once.

Dan, it sucks that you had to leave empty handed. It turns out the guy that we talked to in the beginning was an idiot. We overheard some other guy working there telling a group of 5 that they could rotate in and out of the room with up to 4 people standing at the lane at any time. Oh well, at least we know what to do for next time.

Thanks a lot to Steve and Amar for all your help at the range!

I ended up missing the 495 exit on my way home and got lost. The stupid GPS on my phone took me through DC and then eventually back to MD.

I hope to see everyone at the cruise next Saturday! :hello:

ZCarMan 03-06-2011 07:40 AM

Another great turnout for the Mid-A meet in Fairfax! Lunch was good and the beer cold. Sorry Steve that I couldn't make it for the shootout, but next time give me a heads up and I'll bring the Mrs. with me and we'll do a Bonnie and Clyde...er well... without that whole thing at the end of the movie.

GM_Traitor3.5 03-06-2011 07:57 AM

Mother Goose to Goslings... Mother Goose to Goslings!

Gotta say it looked awesome having so many Z's following me over to Dogfish Head from the meet. Literally looked like I was momma goose with all my children following me everywhere I went :bowrofl:

Sounds like I missed a great meet -- sorry about that --- this is what I spent yesterday doing -- and OBTW, it has spilled into a Sunday job.......got a plumber who is working at a little bit of a "challenged pace"

Will bring my "toys" for the next "shootout" -- what Range did you guys end up going to?

What are those objects sticking thru the wall?

Did you post this pic on the wrong site?

That was MY excuse for missing yesterday's meet picture -- OBTW, those would be exposed shower on/off valves......non-operational ones.......

m4a1mustang 03-06-2011 02:41 PM

Blue Ridge Arsenal. It was nice. Need to try out a few other ranges in the area before I decide on where to start a membership.

Eh, no worries man. It's pretty clear the guys at BRA were having a tough time with the crowds, and those things happen. Glad to hear you guys got in some good shooting. Hopefully we can make this a semi-regular event, since it seems we have quite a few shooters in the Z club.

I need to go back soon to try out a G19 or G26. I tried the XDM Compact today and didn't like it. :(

I'm tempted just to buy the Kahr CW9, check it out at the range, and then make the decision to keep or sell...

No, just the XDM Compact. Suppose I'll have to check out your XD9SC at some point.

Hahaha, well I think the 7 hours we were there was worth it overall. Got a great deal on a brand-new SUV with literally 8 miles on the odometer before we took it for a test drive.

And I'm sad that you think it's mo' betta than the Maxima  :(

Well, my mother's insanely busy, so it's been a non-starter. I can't really impose or gripe. They'll get done when they get done, hopefully before Zdayz.
