It's Cold

Here in Akron, hi is 17 degrees and lo of 10.
Baby Z is sleeping in the garage with a trickle charger and full tank.
Motorcycle and ATV show this weekend promises that spring can't come fast enough.:driving:

CBRich 01-29-2010 06:19 PM

I'm here in SC waiting for the ugly. We're supposed to get 4-6 inches. Of course my Z won't see a bit of that. It's tucked safely away.

StealthZ 01-29-2010 10:07 PM

well no garage right now only a month away till I get into the house. But shes sitting filled up outside just grinning like usual. Hell if it snows it will be gone fast like usual around here. nothing like up north or in the mountains. good day to sit at home and contribute to the forum :)
Then again its always fun to go out in the wife's new 4x4 Pathfinder...
BE SAFE EVERYONE

Hopefully not, but it probably going to stick for a few days if it snows 6 to 12 inches.

A plastic SUV cargo mat makes an amazing downhill sled.

You are going to be in the "Dog House", but at least the Z is safe.

PapoZalsa 01-30-2010 03:52 PM

Clear the driveway to go out on the SUV. However the city has not even bother to clean some of the roads.

Very annoying! The forecast I checked on Friday afternoon was calling for just a couple inches starting late Saturday morning.

So, I went to my parents house on Friday night and changed the oil in the Z. I was planning on changing the brake pads and transmission fluid too, but it was late so I called it a night.

Of course I removed the Z from the garage and put it in the driveway (was planning on running out to get my safety inspection done) only to wake up at 6AM to snow on the ground. Now I can't even get the car to move back into the driveway to finish any of my work... haha.

ZCarMan 01-30-2010 05:28 PM

I didn't go anywhere today. We got 10 inches here in Stafford...UGHH!! Anyhow, was watching the news and saw a silver 350Z in a ditch. Sad sight.

Sscottfitz 01-30-2010 08:10 PM

So when is Spring?

......Z just sittin in the "Z-port" waiting for all this pesky white cold crap to go away... Already shoveled the driveway three times today -- the "weather guessers" got this one wrong.......1~2 inches my @$$......

Is that a Maxima on the front of the Z?

Sscottfitz 01-31-2010 09:17 AM

09 Altima 3.5

PapoZalsa 01-31-2010 04:04 PM

Is freaking ice on the road now since the city has not cleaned or treated the secondary roads around here.

The main roads are not much better either.

tooohip 02-01-2010 09:42 AM

That was an interesting day there... My forecast Saturday was calling for little to no accumulations. Ran an iRace event, then opened the blinds and see 6 inches on the ground, WTF!?

Walk outside to the Taurus and almost fall on my ***, WTF

Get in car and drive, probably the most treacherous roads I've ever driven on in Maryland. It iced before it snowed making for one hell of a trip to the beer store! ;-)

xiven 02-01-2010 10:19 AM

you guys are sissies. what did you buy the car for if you are just going to leave it parked? sounds like a waste of money to me. to each his own i guess. props to ak370 for driving better in the snow in his z than everyone else was in his area.

Huh? Go mind your own business. I drive my car probably more than you do!

xiven 02-01-2010 11:36 AM

i doubt that but whatever

StealthZ 02-01-2010 04:41 PM

stupid VA. can't even clear any roads in Hampton roads. not even main roads... this place sucks balls. pretty much telling us because its bad out and they aren't clearing the roads, that you need to stay in. piss on that. Unlike most of the people around me who got the 2x4 "off road" lifted looking trucks (I don't get that one :shakes head:) the 4x4 Pathfinder got some good work out the last few days. watch out for all the people out and about who don't know how to drive. Seen a bad *** S-2000 with some sweet VOLKs D-1 his *** into a ditch... EPIC:D

I consider myself fortunate as I have a daily driver to use. In this crazy weather I can keep the Z under wraps. Yes to each their own. The common theme is that regardless of whether or not you keep your Z out of the weather or drive it each day, we all love our Zs.

Yeah, your on freaking Atlanta, GA. I spent 3 yrs in GA and did not see a single drop of snow in the Winter and barely any icing on the roads.

The only one that can talk $hit is AK, not you!
:gtfo2:

StealthZ 02-02-2010 06:25 PM

As stated Atlanta guy GTFO... Sissies? No just smart and have another car to drive with instead when bad conditions exist. I have deiven cars in the snow a lot longer then you. Anything sucks on ice I would just rather do it my pathfinder than my new Z. It's called risk managment. Live and learn dude.

Xiven, it's actually up to the owner. I wouldn't call them sissies really. There are member who ONLY drives they Z in the summer and I respect that. If one is not forced to drive their car in the winter, then why drive it? Me, I'm forced to drive my car all year long :(.

Ok lets get this thread BACK on topic. Today one of my friend told me we are getting more snow this weekend? Anyone hear about this?

SigPapa226 02-02-2010 06:42 PM

Look out the window. Its snowing now, at least here in VA, and coming your way.

Forecast for another storm this coming weekend also.

4r3s 02-02-2010 06:47 PM

Ive heard anything from 2" to 2' for this weekend...personally I'd prefer the 2".

2-6 in tonight. Some one at work said they heard this weekend could be major storm with up to 40 in. I do not know the source/accuracy of this but it got my attention. Be prepared to "hunker-down"!

m4a1mustang 02-02-2010 07:00 PM

I would be so pissed with that much snow.

Amen :iagree:

PapoZalsa 02-02-2010 07:20 PM

Well my Z is not coming out of the garage!!!

BTW, I just got a truck today so is less painful trying to shuffle the family around in one car even that the schools have been closed in the past three days.

m4a1mustang 02-02-2010 08:15 PM

This weather just messes everything up. If this weekend is as bad as it looks like it's going to be, not only will it suck, but next week will suck too.

Especially since my gf's sister is staying with us for a while and I will be trapped here and probably be annoyed to death.

I'll just have my car towed to the Starbucks and you guys can part it out.

Sscottfitz 02-02-2010 08:30 PM

Snow x3

....unfortunately the "weather guessers" at the Nat'l Weather Service are not only calling for snow this weekend, but are forcasting more a week from tonight.....this is getting old and I'm about to wear out my snow shovels....
