Depends on where you get your power. If you get power from the cigarette lighter circuit it is not powered when the car is off so an isolator isn't needed.

Make sure you get it oriented right before soldering it in. You can check for orientation using a multimeter. Put the meter on a higher ohms scale and apply the leads to the LED. If it doesn't light...

yeah you need to remove about 6 screws...a long screw driver really helps and if it is magnetic as well would be nice if k&n made a reusable cabin filter for the Z

Do not have to reprogram BCM.Fuses into the 2 empty slots and works like factory.
