Nobody here cares about one unit they repaired. What we care about is the box of junk parts that clearly have a failed hot side bearing and that stupid air cooled paper weigh sitting right next to it...

We've all joked about the longevity of the air-cooled COMP turbo and how long COMP's supergrease would last, but now we have hard numbers to back it up! Those numbers are... 45 days. 882 miles....

Pretty sure this thread won’t be edited to “Installer error & not Mfg.defect” As I helped install & know everything was properly performed. I knew about the clocking issue with the other turbo...

Single BP kit with the Compturbo oil less unit. It died @ 6k miles despite living a simple, well maintained, easy life. They want $1200 to replace the CHRA and I don't feel like wasting any more...

Well I got another one while I wait for material cost to come back down to cage my vert and continue that build. 11 touring this time, kinda bought it sight unseen, ended up having nice brakes on it...
