My 2012 370Z Nismo

Bought on Black Friday in 2014 From a used car dealer on Long Island with approx 20k miles. Paid 27,000 Cash which included all taxes fees.

If I could go back in time and buy a regular Z instead of a Nismo to save some money I would NOT. Ive been in both. Sat in both. Drove both. I just love the package and all that you get. Your car will hold more value and be considered a collectible down the road.

Moving on.

I did a number of modifications to the car already...

This is not a picture of my interior but more of a generic stock looking shifter.

I bought on eBay a shift boot for about 10$ and a Shift Knob for about 10$ and installed myself... Here was the final outcome.

Best mod for $20 or less IMO

Thats all that was done cosmetically so far.

Power Wise I do not have a bone Stock dyno number.

List of mods..

Takeda Long Tube Intake

AAM S-Line Midpipe

Intake manifold polished

Throttle bodies slightly bored +2 MM and polished ( The picture shows one completed and one stock)

Upper Intake Plenum Power mod done by myself more or less like the Motordyne and Z1 offers

For those of you about to attempt this.. its very time consuming if you want to do it right.. And the amount they charge to the amount of time it takes is justified IMO.. They also say they do not polish theres because it would take too long and for what you would gain wouldn't be worth it.. I agree but polished mine anyway. .. Again it takes a long time to do it right...

Stillen Header and Motordyne Art pipe

These work great together and sound great.

I Kept the STOCK NISMO Muffler. Everything else Pretty much full bolt on.

I realize 3-5Hp could be gained by going with the AAM Short Tails but the car would be wayy too loud.

Perfect sound now no drone / no rattling I wouldn't change a thing.

I went to Vinny Ten to tune my car with UpRev.

They did a great job and are great people to deal with. Highly Reccomended
I changed my oil right before putting the car on the dyno.

Now you would think by getting the stillen header which claims like +30HP and the Motordyne Art Pipe +35HP AAM MIdpipe +15 HP Takeda +15 you would easily be in the 400HP range like some people with Z's and G's have told me.. this is NOT the case.. Please do not be ignorant and buy into these numbers..

So my First Baseline pull before the tune but having all the parts on the car along with the NISMO ECU was a Whopping 286 WHP..

Not sure if those vids will work...

After a few punches into Vinnys laptop on the dyno the next pull went to a respectable 303WHP

a few more pulls and fine tuning by Vinny Ten .. on a 55 Degree Beautiful day...
The car made 310 WHP and 251 LB TQ on a DynoJet

The car drives great and I'm extremely happy with it. My estimation is only 3-5 more HP can be added with a different muffler but am not willing to sacrifice my ear drums for that.

Please share your NA Dyno figures to compare ! Interested to see what the highest FBO + Tune Z is making !

Dynod today on same dyno at Vinny Ten In Farmingdale Same 55 degree weather. 348WHP 281TQ

Removed the OEM Nismo Muffler and Added AAM Competition Axle Back to go with my AAM Midpipes.

Nearly 40 HP Gain for swapping out a Muffler on a NA Car! The tune was left the same.

We thought the Dyno was not calibrated correctly so we put on one of the Techs Cars that works there whose car they know consistently makes 325WHP on his WRX. They did a pull on his WRX and it read 322WHP... Which is actually lower then anticipated.

Great build! Bone stock with only K&N drop-ins, I dynoed 275/224 on my 09 Sport. That went to 286/240 with an EcuTek tune. Now I'm building out a new engine with FI LTH, JWT Cams, etc. Based on your results, I may need to swap the exhaust as well. I was hoping not to because I need to stay under the 92db sound limit at Laguna Seca.

Its amazing how much HP Nissan has left on the table even with the upgraded NISMO exhaust... The AAM Axleback isn't too loud... at the time of my first dyno the AAM Short Tails were only available and i did not want to deal with a super loud exhaust. Finally they came out with a muffler that bolts up to their mid pipes rather then a straight un resonated pipe.

Good luck and find a quiet alternative to the stock muffler it will be worth it

Off to a great start! Any chance you have sound clips of your exhaust?

You have quite the combination going on, I'd be interested to hear how it sounds.

Nicely done

So the intake manifold mod and throttle body boring did pretty much nothing? Those numbers seem very similar to people running full boltons with a tune. Have you taken to the track yet? I'd look into some cooling system options
