Yep. well, the weekend before at GTA, but it will still be in track trim at zdayz. At least when it gets there. I wont have time to do anything besides wash it (on the trailer) after GTA

Very cool! I still in to make the trip so I look forward to meeting you and seeing your handy work up front and personal.

Also, is the amount of down force adjustable, as it well impact your top in on high speed course with long straightaways? The mothar of dialing in a high speed race car for the best of both worlds!

according to nissan the sports package z doesn't produce any front or rear lift. you're saying there's substantial lift. why the discrepancy?

Super Werty 02-20-2015 07:12 PM

you going to pull the side mirrors off?

djtodd 02-20-2015 07:12 PM

DJTODD's Journal - 2012 370z Nismo

Under 60 it's about zero, above 100 it's definitely generating positive lift. It's really no surprise though. Almost all cars (even sports cars) generate lift from the factory. Once dropped a little over an inch, the nismo generates a bit if downforce, but nothing overly substantial.

That wasn't a big surprise though. At high speed the rear end was light, and definitely squirrelly under braking.

Going to replace them with the smaller aftermarket ones as soon as I can get my hands on em.

It's adjustable, but not dynamically adjustable on track. Class rules won't allow it. If I ever move up to unlimited I'll add aeromotions' dynamic controller. Which gives great downforce when you want it, top end when you don't.

Very cool...I look forward to your to your results and reviews.

Great build, let me know if you still have and of those N/A parts that you want to get rid of.

So, its the mad dash to get everything ready for GTA. I'll be posting a bunch of updates as things come back together. Got a few things back from paint today. nom nom.

Hatch is back and will be going on tonight.

Dampers should be back tomorrow. Stance USA really stepped up bigtime. ProComps. Two sets of springs, 18/12k and 20/14k. In case you didnt know, stance-usa = touge factory. I had no idea.
Those guys are awesome. Give David a call. They really know their ****.

The hood turned out pretty good. I wish I had more time to bodywork it, but its good enough for racecar :)

Also got some new rubber for GTA. I had to give the TDs a try. 80 treadwear!
They are a bit smaller, but everyone Ive talked to said a 295 TD will outperform a 315 NT01, so we will see. If anything Im sacrificing a bit of straight line traction for improved corner speeds, which is perfect for Road A.

Front ducts came out amazing. But holy hell routing the hoses with a TT kit in the way is CRAMPED.

As you can see, those last pics also show the new rotor rings. Like jewelry on a gangster.
The old ones were toast, and I had to step down a size to fit 18s anyway. Too bad they cant stay that clean :)

I'll also be testing a MONSTER front bar for a local race team that is starting to make parts for the 370. Can't post pics yet, but its massive...at least twice as stiff as the whiteline or hotchkis. And it bolts right up to the factory mounting points. Should be exciting.

More to come soon!
