Update (short version, as I will post with pictures later):
I took the car in to service at Fontana Nissan last week because the car kept throwing a CEL light. The code was P0456, which denotes a pinhole-esque leak in the fuel evaporator system. I thought it was a gas cap issue; and so did everybody else. Well...long story short, it wasn't. My Amuse exhaust caused issues with the fuel system's charcoal canister, and I had to replace the charcoal canister out of pocket. The car is back with the exhaust dropped almost 2 inches to mitigate any interference issues. I'm still trying to figure out what happened, and what to do. Pics and an improved write-up to follow, but I'm posting this up here because I'm out of ideas, so I'd like to hear some thoughts from the community. Special thanks go to Frank and Jerome @ Fontana Nissan for helping me out, and Mike @ BPAuto for his continued support  |

Flipped the mounting brackets upside down.
I should add that I'm not putting this up as a dig on any company. Aftermarket parts like this always carry inherent risk, one I've been taking for a while now as well. I think there are ways to fix this, just need to figure out what is the best and cleanest way to do it. My hope is that we all learn from this, so others with the amuse exhaust are aware of what CAN (but not necessarily will!) happen. Also for the record I have already contacted amuse through BPAuto. So can't say I'm just coming out and flaming first (and really! I'm not trying to fan flames at all!!) |
dude, who's that girl on your profile pic? She is so pretty~~

Sorry to hear. This news concerns me deeply since amuse r1 was next on my to do list. I'm curious to hear what amuse has to say about this. Please keep us posted and good luck.

As promised, here are more pics of the car in its current condition: http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/9927/dsc06441copy.jpg http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/2755/dsc06442o.jpg You can see the massive gap I now have between the bumper and the exhaust tips. For comparison's sake, here's the old position: http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/7992/dsc05604a.jpg This condition is TEMPORARY ONLY. It's only there so I could take it back home from Fontana Nissan. Once I figure out how to fix Rin up, I plan to flip the mounting brackets back to the correct orientation, etc. See next post for the actual issue... |
