I haven't updated this thread as I have been on a bit of a hiatus, but I did just recently install an Ark Grip V2 CBE that I picked up used from forum and MAZOC member italy3541. He bought the exhaust from forum and MAZOC member MyKindaGuise. In total the exhaust had about 5600 miles on it, was in great condition, and I got a hell of a deal on it!

I'm VERY happy with the sound. It's deep down low with an exotic wail at mid-range and up top. It's loud when I want it, relatively quiet when I don't. Best of all... no drone at all at cruising speed. That's what I was worried about the most having had FI on my 2009... I didn't want to deal with drone again. Couldn't be happier with the end result.

I'll be getting some exhaust vids done in the next week or so and take some quality pics to update.

What did I tell you?! HKS style resonators for the win! How do you think I've been able to park under your deck for free all these years? ...nice and quiet until you open'er up!

carlitos_370z 08-13-2013 07:59 AM

nice thread man!!! I have to ask you.... do you still have the stock springs in your car? or you changed?

BTW I like the way that looks with the 20mm spacers all around:tup:

I still have the stock springs. Thought about lowering it but I can't with the roads I encounter on a daily basis. Heck I scrape in my driveway as it is!

I love my Berk HFC/CBE combo - no drone, etc. either.

Curious to hear your exhaust.

And yes, scraping on everything stock height means no lowering for me either. :(

On a serious note. I could tell from the pics. It looks amazing!

Really cant wait to hear it this weekend. I forget what a modest exhaust sounds like :|

Great!!!! in the pics looks lowered ;) but i think its the illusion of the spacers and you running hard on the curves loool!!!

20mm all around is a good choice. I really don't think I will lower it... I scrape too much as it is.

b1adesofcha0s 08-13-2013 09:04 AM

Of course

carlitos_370z 08-13-2013 09:04 AM

BTW i want to lower my car but its my DD and the streets over here are not in the better conditions :(

That's the issue I have. My driveway angle is enough that I scrape at stock height. I scrape pulling into/out of the lot at my office. We have terrible construction everywhere that requires decent clearance... I just can't lower it.

I don't really care, though. It looks good when it's in action!

I've been catching up on this thread and was going to recommend Ark over Invidia for your drone requirements and looks like you beat me to it!

So now, I'll follow everyone else and get Z1 spacers in 20mm for my 2013. lol

I'm still super jelly of your blue. I'm planning on joining the ZDayZ crew for 2014 so hopefully I can drool over it in person.

If i install spring im going to go that way!!!! Swift FTW:tup:

Reaper42 08-14-2013 07:02 AM

I concur! Swift springs!

m4a1mustang 08-14-2013 07:05 AM

Not gonna happen fellas! I scrape errrrwhere.

Plus I don't care all that much how the car looks when it's not doing work.

m4a1mustang 08-14-2013 07:06 AM

Though I might consider a 6" lift kit and knobby tires considering this car is used for outdoor activities.

wheee! 08-14-2013 07:18 AM

Sounds like you're thinking of moving to Alberta!

I still haven't done any video yet. I plan on doing a lot but need the time. Probably won't happen until Labor Day weekend.

carlitos_370z 08-19-2013 07:46 AM

m4a1mustang 09-02-2013 02:58 PM

Finally got around to recording some videos. I haven't done an onboard yet but will soon... probably later today. For now, cold start + light revving (after the idle settles) and a couple light takeoffs.

Your exhaust makes a cool cicada kind of sound; music to me.

m4a1mustang 09-02-2013 03:35 PM

Added another with warm start.

My dad was hosing off our canoe during the making of these vids, so my exhaust also sounds like flowing water.

m4a1mustang 09-02-2013 03:40 PM

And for one of the many reasons why I don't want springs...

speedfreek 09-02-2013 05:13 PM

Ouch. Yea that driveway definitely isnt lowered car friendly.

m4a1mustang 09-02-2013 06:46 PM

Before anyone suggests it, those driveway curb bridges are outlawed by the HOA so that's not an option. Not that it really matters... I'm fine with the car as is.
